kgo co-kgo. >> this fuel tanker citizen was more than an early morning traffic headache. right now crews are still cleaning up an environmental concern. we will have that story in a moment but first we have breaking news in san francisco: five san francisco police officers and another man who is a retired police officer have been indifficultied by a federal grand jury. the charges range from conspiracy to distributing a will control substance, to theft and violating others' civil rights. >> investigation dates back to march of 2011 when san francisco

public defender released surveillance videos from a hotel showing plain clothes officers entering rooms of suspects and leaving with items from the rooms such as money and computers but failing to file reports about any of it or locking the items as evidence in the investigation. >> three of the officers were assigned to the southern station, two were assigned to the mission station. police chief has scheduled a news conference in 45 minutes to talk about the indictments. >> the district attorney referred the case to the feds back in 2011 citing a conflict of interest to investigate it because he is a former police chief. the accident on highway 101 had southbound lanes closed for hours and forced evacuation of northbound by hopes in morgan hill. matt keller joints us with the traffic situation, evacuations and environmental problems. >> the trouble still is not

over. at least it is getting better. check it out: a second lane has been open in just the past 30 minutes on southbound 101 in morgan hill as crews continue to clean up. the third lane is expected to be open this afternoon at 2:30. it is not just the highway impacted by this spill. >> it was too wet to be going too fast this or on southbound 101. the c.h.p. says the driver of the sports car lost control after 1:00 o'clock and hit a big rig carrying a fuel tanker, pushing it off the road. >> it is worst case scenario. we don't see many of these but this is worse case. >> the tanker spilled 3,000 gallons are fuel and firefighters were not taking any chances. lightning was seen in the area at time of the crash and fumes lingered within a thousand square foot hot zone. 1 homes were evacuated. >> door rang and two pretty

sheriff ladies asked if they could talk to me, there was -- they didn't say what it was, they said could you evacuate. i said, well, is it that bad and they say, yes. >> couple and two daughters packed up and stayed with family. firefighters spent hours sucking the remaining gas from the tanker and filling up a new tanker. the gas on the ground was the real problem. firefighters estimate that 2,000 glenns drained off into the creek. >> it ends up in the ocean because there is no damming or collection point from here out. >> that is significant amount of gas. >> significant amount of gas. >> in the past 30 minutes a work crew with nrc environmental services arrived and put down booms into the water. they would not comment about what they were doing but it is unclear how helpful this could be 9 1/2 hours after the initial spill.

children in san jose. it broke out shortly after midnight. the san jose fire department took the cell phone video and the fire destroyed one unit and badly damaged three other units. everyone got out safely. >> we have new detail on the plane that experienced smoke in the cabin after landing in oakland last night. it was not an emergency spite of a record that show as lot of urgency. katie marzullo joins us from the newsroom. katie, you talked with them this morning? >> i spokeswoman said this was only -- it was not emergency evacuation but rather an "expedited deplaning." sky west was operating the delta connection from l.a.x. to oakland and a passenger recorded this on the cell phone and captured dramatic moments. >> it was calm. >> leave your personal belongings behind. >> then it is more urgent: we cannot breath back here.

go. >> a former spokesman for bart recorded the incident on the cell phone and described what it was lick after they landed. >> i was at the front. when we handed i started smelling an another scent. smelled like burning rubber. when we were close to the gate the pilot slammed on the brakes and the flight attendants were running and said "get off the plane, get off the plane, get off the plane, get off the plane." sky west is downlaying this, saying it arrived on town, landed and taxied to the gate normally. at the gate the smell of smoke was reported and all 75 passengers deplaned through the main cabin door. between the passengers and four crew, no one was hurt. sky west said it was an air conditioning pack that caused the problem. johnson said it could have been worse. >> imagine if it happened 30,000 feet in i was reading a book about airplane czar -- disasters

bay area, this is abc7 news. >> united states attorney general holder was discharged from a washington hospital after being admitted this morning for faintness and shortness of breath. he walked outside the meeting this morning with senior staff saying he wasn't feeling well and taken to the hospital, alert, and joking with paramedics. doctors did a series of tests and sent the 63-year-old home. no word on what the issue was. so far, no official word from holder's office. nasa has launch add new weather satellite that could shed more light on california's drought crisis. took off from japan half an hour ago and satellite we will investigate rain and snow fall around the world and collect x-ray and cat scan images of clouds and hurricanes and blizzards. it is the first satellite
