accident solo spinout. extra caution. we continue coverage with a look at conditions on the peninsula where steady rain and winds are making driving a challenge for another day. abc7 news reporter nick smith is on the scene. >> i found all day not only early we saw lightning flashes but we have encountered so much standing water and slick rods and we are, again, reminding drivers to exercise caution as they move throughout the roads. right new we are in redwood city and we have noticed are pools of standing water. we are not the only area seeing a steady rainfall. look what we have found right there in san francisco: an s.u.v. crashed into the corner of this building at silver avenue and princeton. there were no injuries to the

driver or the occupants of the building. crews say it is one of the things that was a direct result of weather. >> a tree came down at 37th and lincoln way closing lanes. until the crews can remove the tree it will be a hazard. we see a car that crashed into a building at 17th and harrison. this is a direct result of what officials on the scene say are slick roads and drivers just not slowing down enough. you have to be careful as you get on the treats. in redwood city we are watching drivers with their headlights and windshield wipers trying to take it slower. be careful of the standing pools of water. i will give you an idea of what to expect for the morning cot mute. in redwood city for abc7. >> residents and crews hope they are prepared for the second

crashed into a power pole. it ended with a fatality. amy hollyfield is at the scene. investigators are still here and the neighborhood is dark with no power. you would not be surprised to hear that on the only of a big rainstorm this outage caused by something different. a truck crashed into a pg&e poll in the 500 block of west 10th with midnight. emergency crews could not rush in and check on the driver because power lanes came down and fell on the car. they will still alive. crews had to stand back. when they got to the car it was 30 minutes when pg&e got here they found the driver dieed. we have video with police showing guns drawn because this

was a possible carjacking and they said someone ran away from the car but the sergeant who just arrived said it was nut a carjacking. also, there was not a second person in the car so there conflicting information. no word on when the power is on or when the street will re-open. happening today, five san francisco police officers under indictment on corruption charges are scheduled to appear in federal court, and a sixth now former officer has been fired for unrelated reasons is also charged. the indictments were into a three-year investigation. a federal probe was launched when san francisco public defender released security camera video from residential hotels. he charged the video shows officers barging interest suspect's rooms without warrants and lying on police reports. two officers from michigan

station and the officer dismissed are also charged with distributing marijuana and stealing suspect's money and personal prosecute. police are searching if a gunman who shot at a driver during the commute on 580. he spoke with abc7 after bullets barely missed him. now the latest on that story. >> i thought it was...i ducked. i laid down and steered to the shoulder and hit the bricks. >> he was driving home from work in dublin on westbound 580 at 4:00 thursday and a silver four-door car pulled up long side the black s.u.v. he was driving. he saw four people in the car. he says the man in the front passenger seat pointed a handgun at him and opened fire. >> i saw him pull the gun and i heard "pop." the guy behind me says that

there were at least ten shots. there were seven on the truck. >> westbound 580 at 164th avenue was shut down for an hour during the evening commute as officers combed the freeway for bullet casings and other evidence. traffic backed up for miles on 580 and highway 238 and c.h.p. is investigating the shooting. >> your lucky hat. >> hit my hat. through the top. my cowboy hat. >> he is become home counting his blessings. happening today the full board of the golden gate bridge district will vote on a proposal to raise the tolls. the finance committee voted unanimously yesterday to move forward with an option to raise tolls by $1 in april and 25 cent a year until it reaches $8.
