shortcut. amy hollyfield is near the scene of the accident. >> wait until you hear why she died. police say she was running to get her cell phone. police say the 14-year-old girl was walking on the tracks with her boyne and the extras are a popular shortcut in martinez. they were not supposed to be there it is considered trespassing but they move when they saw the train. investigator say she went back on the tracks when she relied she dropped her phone. the train hit and killed her. residents say this is awful. it is tragic and unfortunate to make that decision. a pad decision like that can be the last bad decision. right? >> the police say it is considered trespassing to walk on the tracks. the only thing from this accident they hope good can come is this will remind others how

dangerous it is to walk near railroad tracks. an antioch homeowner is childrenning up a mess after a car slammed through the pens and landed in his swimming pool for the second time in a week. he could not believe it happened again weapon the car went into the pool sunday morning. police say the 18-year-old david martinez, drunk, when he crashed the car through a backyard fence and landed in the pool. he was arrested. the two minors were not hurt. can you believe, another car did the same thing just six days earlier. >> what are the odds? go out and buy a lottery ticket. >> he shared these photos of this car that was hoisted out of the good morning after it was drained. >> a lost oscars. you saw it right here.

authorities say much of the concern is now over. >> as the drought conditions farmers are turning to an old way to fine water but it is a method that scientists have long dismissed. farmers have turned to a method of locating water underground, or "water winning" involves using copper sticks using natural energy to locate water. with local reserves and reservoirs at lows, record lows, they are trying to tap other sources. >> we getting half the normal amount of water and other districts are getting no water. >> so many people want to drill wells we have a backup of probably three months' to get a well driller in to drill. >> scientists say douseers are often judge lucky looking for water in places where it is then to likely exist. >> that shows the desperation.

asleep could be doing more harm than good. researchers at the university of toronto say infant sleep machines can reach volumes that could lead to noise-induced hearing loss. they found many machines exceed the recommended 50 decibels. researchers are concerned because there was limited or no instruction of use. >> kids are in need of more sleep, and the national sleep foundation says that children ages six to ten get only 85 percent of what they need. those 15 to 17, get 78 percent. researchers say poor sleep hygiene is to blame. three and four will have one electronic device in their room. >> a 95-year-old world war ii veteran came out to support runners in san jose and it turns into a spontaneous tribute to him. >> joe bell was in a race yesterday and won by one runners
