they had an emergency staff meeting this morning before school started. officials wanted to tell the staff they are safe here and to communicate that to their students and try and get students to come forward with any information they have of this crime. no arrests have been made. >> the school district brought a crisis team to hercules middle high school if students needed to talk about the attack. parents are still processing the news. >> it is appalling. this community should be open minded but it is showing it is not. coming from kids...it's upsetting. >> hercules police are on campus trying to figure out would attacked a transgender 15-year-old who was born a girl but identifies as a boy. the teen was sexually andinglily assaulted using the boy's bathroom. a california law allows the students to use the bathroom of the gender they choose.

to this school and be totally safe. >> police say the victim is doing okay, has checked out of the hospital and is at home recovering. they have interviewed the victim a couple of times and the victim says that he does not know his attackers. new this morning, a suspected drunk driver from berkeley is being blamed for this mess on san pablo avenue with broken windows of a car dealership left behind after a 25-year-old drove up on the sidewalk and hit the front of several businesses. police say he was somebodying and drunk when he jumped out of the car and took off running. he was arrested on several charges. the woman in the car was not seriously hurt. >> a driver was taken to the hospital after driving the car down an embankment near the 280 connection ramp to eastbound 380 around 5:00 this morning. the car plunged 50' over the hill. the c.h.p. had to close a lane

>> happening today a new jersey family is headed to court in a case of daughter versus parents. the 18-year-old honor student is suing her mom and dad for financial support. she says they refused to pay for her private high school education and college next fall. she claims her parents kicked her out of the case when she turned 18 in october. her parents say she left because she didn't want to follow rules like curfew and chores. her 19 is a former police chief and says this ordeal is tearing the family apart. >> we would be healed if she was
