office of janet napolitano called for expanded sexual assault training and education. increased reporting requirements and broader protections for victims of sexual violence and harassment. last week, berkeley chancellor anunsd a series of actions designed to enhance the campus response to sexual assaults, including additional staff to support victims. >> the policy actually will now be our policy, which is great. anything that the university of california can do to strengthen our poll says around sexual violence is always a good thing. >> university does not make efforts. the new policy just ten days filed a lawsuit against uc berkeley claiming the university mishandled the cases. in berkeley, abc7 news. >> authorities in the south bay have solved a 25-year-old murder weeks after publicizing new

evidence. last month, police showed off this quilt, we brought it to you here on the news wrapped around kathy zimmer when she was found strangled in 1989. today, police arrested kathy's husband, david zimmer, charging him with murder. investigators credited new evidence and police also charged the victim's brother-in-law with murder as well. a man sentenced today to 52 years in prison for a gang rape in 2000 the 36-year-old was convicted of kidnapping the woman on 33 ready street taking her to oakland hills sheshg was raped by four men, police used dna evidence to link him to that crime. >> a suj bay lawmaker introduced legislation he says would bring justice to victims of cyber bullying and make laws more relevant to the connected society. it's called audrey's law named after audrey pott. the 15-year-old took her life in september, 2012 after she was

sexual assaults while unconscious three boys admitted to sexual assaulting her, taking pictures and sharing them with others she received short sentences, 30-45 days in detention. >> their crimes veiled in secrecy. there was in public conviction. no element of acknowledgement or deterrent to reoffend no remorse or apology. our community is more dangerous for our kids. >> the law would make it a crime of rape if the victim is incapacitated or intoxicateed and makes it easier for prosecutors to bring adult charges in juvenile cases. a richmond teacher suspected of molesting young boys will remain in jail. the 32-year-old arrested wednesday as we've reported to you. he's accused of molesting six boys ages 11-13 while teaching
