chief stepped outside to let me know the officer involved in the shooting early today is out of the woods. he wanted to thank the community for their support. he did not want to do any interview about stop long enough to capture the moment on my cell phone. >> officers out of surgery. conscious and in good experts. >>reporter: what started as traffic stop now has the men and women of the san francisco police department hunting for a shooter. sf pd received complaint about suspicious vehicle when cops got to the 1 1300 block of florida street they found the car. 2 officers approached it. one on the driver side and the other on the passenger side. witness asking not to be identified described what happened next. >> we werefqaq in the house. hd probably 5 or 6 shots and then we heard that a cop had been shot while we think pulling somebody over. >>reporter: first shot fired came from the suspect vehicle. that then made a move to take off. >> passenger officer saw the
