arrest in connection with the shooting. cornell bernard is live from sf general hospital with details. reporter: that suspect is a convicted felon who was in possession of ammunition when he was arrested this morning. but it's important to note he is not facing any weapons charges. officer adam shaw recovering here at san francisco general tonight and may soon be well enough to tell investigators howl he was wounded in the line of duty yesterday. >> we got really lucky on this one. >> the police chief gave us the news firsthand. the officer adam shaw is recovering well after suffering a gunshot wound to the shoulder. >> just moved the officer from icu. he is in very, very good spirits. actually stood up and moved to a wheelchair. they put him into a room. >> overnight a dramatic police chase nor suspect spanned four counties, ending early sunday in san jose. in video only on abc7 news you see 50-year-old jeffrey ruano

taken into custody. he screamed at officers his handcuffs were too tight. [bleep] loosen [bleep] up. >> he was arrested in a white mercedes but police say he was behind the wheel of a mustang on saturday afternoon when police pulled the car over in the mission. two officers approached the vehicle, a witness described what happened next. >> we were in the house. we heard probably five or six shots, and then we heard a cop had been shot while we think -- >> initially police said the first shots came from the suspect's car. sky 7hd was overhead and captured these picture of handcuffs and what appeared to be a bullet hole in the trunk of the squad car. the partner of the wounded officer fired shots at the mouse sting when he said it started moves towards the officer but it's unclear if officer ruano shot officer shaw.

indicating a little moisture, but i think much of that is what we call verga. isn't reaching the ground, where we can tell you it's reaching the ground is from willis down to ukiah. you can see the leading edge of the rain making its way down towards 101, that stretch of highway, but as we take you up along the north coast, crescent city, eureka, the leading edge of the cold front and this will bring parts of the bay area as much as an inch of rain by tomorrow morning. we'll take a look at the timing of the rain in a bit. >> authorities in the east bay are warning people to watch out for a phony east bay mud employee. lillian kim is live from castro valley with details of this alert. reporter: it was in this neighborhood where someone stole an east bay mud maintenance truck. utility says the stolen truck is identical to the hundreds of

other maintenance trucks in its fleet. the vehicle contained $5,000 worth of tools and an east bay mud work badge, hard hat, and safety vest. the employee had been at a job site in castro valley when he returned to his truck to find it gone. the concern is that whoever stole the truck may pose as an east bay muted employee. customers are being employed to take the proper precautions. >> people who are working on the streets don't ask to come inside your home so our crews won't be asking to come inside unless it's a prescheduled visit in which case please ask to see their identification number and if you're concerned dial 9-1-1 or call us. >> the truck was stolen thursday and last spotted yesterday at the redwood christian church in castro valley. license plate 1285077. anyone with information is asked to call police or east bay mud. live in castro valley, abc7

news. >> a westbound lanes of highway 80 in vacaville have re-opened tonight. a couple hours were closed after a car crash into a fallen tree. officers say the tree apparently fell on the roadway at 1:45 this afternoon, par shatly blocking the far right lane. one person inside the car died in the crash. >> the chp opened northbound lanes in on 880 after a fatal traffic collision. one person died and another was transported to the hospital. no word how the accident happened. there are reports a person ran away after the collision. tempers are clashing in ukraine with prorussian and proukrainian groups. a scuffle broke out. you can see people shoving and kicking each other. pro-ukrainians want the russians outs thunder temperature

for your monday afternoon and then after that a warming trend sets up for the end of the upcoming work week. here's a look at the pacific satellite. you can get a sense that cold front slowly edging inland this hour. this is responsible for the rain extending from the north bay to the south bay by tomorrow morning. our timing beginning at 6:00 tonight. you can see our forecast animation, gets hung up along the north coast, then around midnight, it will start to slide south through ukiah. north bay, rain overnight. by 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, crosses the golden gate bridge and then tomorrow morning will be a bet sloppy, allow for extra drive time put it will move out by 10:00 tomorrow. tomorrow afternoon, on the backside of the system. the wind will pick up, be a bit cooler but we'll break out into sunshine. how much can you expect? north bay mountains, close to an inch. most areas, though, close to a
