demolition has just begun on the north side of an apartment building that burned yesterday in the mission bay neighborhood. sky 7 is live over the scene. you can see it's starting to take the building apart piece by piece. firefighters are also still pouring water on various hot spots. crews have been at the apartment project nearly 24 hours now. good afternoon, everybody. >> the investigation into what caused that fire is now underway. take a look. we have a side by side comparison for you to show you what the fire looked like.

and here on the right you can see charred remains. >> one day after the fire started still a dangerous scene here. firefighters dousing hot spots and on 4th street an excavator just arrived. sky 7 hd has the best view of that. they're knocking it inward, we're told. this as the investigation continues. 24 hours later firefighters are pouring water on this burned out shell of a building, still smoldering inside. danger is still high.

complained in recent weeks about a gas odor. the gas company said it had not heard of the issues until just before the blast. >> officials on hunt for a most-wanted terrorism suspect. >> agents searching the big island for daniel andreas san diego afterçó they conducted experiments in 2003 this, is the second alert that the fbi issued for san diego. >> today was the first court appearance involved in a traffic stop. the 50-year-old is charged with assault on a police officer but not for the shooting. >> he is accused of trying to ram the officer with his car.

sky 7 hd is over charred remains of the building mb 360 in mission bay. you can see the arm of the construction vehicle pushing forward they're trying to prevent anything from falling to the streets below. what happens here is that arm pulls back. some of the rebar is coming down. so they're trying to push everything back in. you can see some remnants there as we continue throughout the afternoon. >> we should mention the street is cordoned off right now. >> oakland police released a sketch of a suspect in inappropriate touching of school children in the fruit veil district. then, 200 people marched through the streets demanding a safer
