down the closer you get to the maze and starting with the bay bridge toll plaza you can see the cash-paying lanes are heavy and emeryville camera shows traffic moving to treasure island with a few extra cars slow things down. >> we have breaking news in hayward, with a large marijuana "grow" operation in a home. they are in the process of removing marijuana plants from the house at stonewall avenue. a neighbor called 9-1-1 to report a small fire on the roof of the house. firefighters found a large marijuana growing operation. no word on the exact number but police say there are "a lot." we will have more on the breaking story at 6:30. right now in san francisco, student protesters remain camped out at city college following a heated clash with believes and

our reporter joins from the scene. 50, many of the students have been here since yesterday, and you can see they are still outside. police continue to monitor the crowd. they calling for reversal of a plan that they believe forced students out of school because they will be required to pay thousands in fees upfront an expense they cannot afford. youtube video was posted showing students at city college trying to occupy the hall yesterday afternoon. we have learned that two students were arrested during the protest and one was pepper sprayed and the second was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer. the students are demanding that special trustee resign because they feel there is a lack of democracy. >> we are following the model of nonviolent direct action set up in the civil rights movement and

education we feel is a civil right. the building closed at 10:00 last night but police allowed the protesters to stay overnight. another rally is planned at 12:30 this afternoon in front of san francisco city hall and students stay there is an agreement to speak with the students by the administration and the students plan to be there the many students have not eaten since yesterday. they hope to bring this to a close this afternoon but they believe that the students deserve to have an education they can afford. at city college for abc7 news. this morning the streets are open around the site of the huge fire in san francisco's mission bay and only three fire engines are left on 4th street to put out occasional hotspots and crews are facing a massive job removing debris that stretches for a city block. what was nine stories is reduced to three story pile of rubble. the fire commission meeting the chief praised firefighters for

arrived at a home in hayward removing a marijuana "grow" operation. matt keller is at the home. matt? police do not have exact unusual of how many marijuana blahs are at the home but you can see they working here. they say there are "a lot." investigators arrived at 5:00 they estimated it would take an hour to box them up so we expect them to bring out the boxes any time. the plants are in several rooms in the home. officers had to waited several hours for a search warrant. it was discovered after a neighbor called 9-1-1 before midnight reporting a small fire. no one was home so firefighters forced their way in and found the marijuana "grow" operation much the fire was started from a blown circuit. pg&e are checking to see if there are issues with the electric lines. the person was living here but trying to figure out who that

person is. the for is on the scene and workers are waiting until they are done and they box up the house and make sure it is secure when the officers leave. new this morning, san francisco police are investigating a shooting in a store in the pay view district that happened at a store before 9:00 last night open 3rd. 26-year-old employee was shot in the back and arm and taken to the hospital in stable condition. the suspect was described as black man in his 20's. no word if this involved a robbery. >> a group of students is if trouble and would could face arrest for t partly nude pictures of themselves all between ages 12 and 14. one boy used pictures to coerce a girl to have sex on campus with him. he could face criminal charges. the others are disciplined by the schools. the school board member says
