news. >> the mother is only 16 years old. the father, who is accused of biting off their baby's nose, is 18. he is in jail while the mother has been at the baby's side at children's hospital in oakland. doctors reaattached the nose but are waiting to see if the surgery was successful. police say it happened on thursday. they got a call saying that the baby was bleeding from his nose. the baby is only a mock month old. the father said he bit off the nose out of frustration because he cooperate get -- couldn't get the baby to stop crying. the mother doesn't buy the excuse. >> i didn't see no anger or stress. seeing him in the hospital, it hurt. it hurts my feelings a lot. my heart is broken. >> doctors also determined the baby has suffered a skull fracture and a brain hemorrhage.

mom says she doesn't know how her son goetz injuries. doctors are suspecting child abuse. the mother heads to family court on tuesday and will fight to bring her son home when he is released from the hospital. no telling when he will be well enough. doctors say he has long road to recovery. >> loved ones remembered a bay area teen who was last seen two years ago today. 15-year-old sierra lamar was heldded to her bus in morgan hill but never arrived. nick smith joinses us live from morgan hill with a look at the strong show of support for the missing teen and her family. >> the family has never given up hope. in fact they have had more than 500 searches for clues into her disappearance. this bench behind me was built in memory of sierra, letting the world know she has not been forgotten. >> prayer balloons were relead

mission district. the victim suffered wounds to the chest and arm after being shot at 26th and fullsome streets. doctors expect the victim to survive. police are looking for tips about the shooting and encourage who knows anything to call them. >> investigators want know what sparked this early morning fire in mountain view. broke out around 2:30 this morning. flames gutted much of the one-story house. nobody was home when the fire started. crews kept it from spreading. viesors to bay area beaches are watching big waves pound the local coastline. you can see some big breakers here in san francisco. a high surf advisory will remain in effect until tomorrow morning. the coast guard urges you to stay away from the water and to keep off rocks near the surf. the high surf can generate dangerous sneaker waves along coast beaches. the surf was rough, the sun

rays were pretty sweet today. this is a live from the emeryville camera. the bay area has sunny weather this entire weekend. leigh glaser shows us the temperatures. >> temperatures inland were near 80 degrees, although at the coast and near the peninsula saw temperatures come down a bit today and that's because of a stronger sea breeze. you can see on live doppler 7hd the low clouds and fog banking up near the coast, and temperatures there drop considerably back down into the mid-to-low 60s, but highs today, a nice day in antioch, 81. check out gilroy. record high there, 86. 78 in redwood city. 66 in san francisco, north bay, enjoying 70s today with novato, 78. right now, we are looking at temperatures down, minus 10 in oakland, minus eight at sfo, minus ten in santa rosa. livermore, down three from this

time yesterday. more cooling for tomorrow. we'll look at the forecast coming up. >> thank you. a man suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a tour bus in san francisco. police say it happened while the man was crossing 7th street at mission street just after 8:00 this morning. the victim appears to be in his 60s. the bus driver remained at the scene and has cooperated with police. investigators are trying to figure out who what at fault for the accident. the highway patrol blames drinking and driving for a chain reaction crash that seriously hurt a small child in santa rosa. officers believe a woman was drunk when she crashed her volvo this morning. another include plowed into the volvo. that injured the woman's husband. the woman then tried to run across traffic with her two-year-old when a third car hit them. officers also arrested that driver on suspicion of dui. >> we know the names of two women killed when a suspected drunk driver slammed his pickup

a livermore veteran who doctors said would never walk or speak again, got behind the wheel today. this was another step in the recovery of sergeant mary ellen mayland, she suffered severe head injuries in kuwait. it took four years in the hospital and six in rehab and her spirit but she was back in the driver's seat. >> fun to drive again but there's a lot harder than i thought it would have been. because it takes so much of your body. >> very positive, got a great sense of humor, engaging. everybody loves her. she is inspiring. she inspires all of us. she said even though her body is sore she is looking forward to driving again.
