between japantown and convention center. this is in san jose due to police activity. keep that in mind. because lines are affected and are going to be recruited. 580 tracy to dublin is showing traffic building and as you leave 205 over the amount pass it will take you 29 minutes and highway 4 antioch to concord is 14 minutes and 101 southbound through the north bay is 17 minutes. in san jose we check out 101 and the drive is smooth as you leave the nimitz approaching the san jose airport it is move along fine with no construction, no accidents to report. eric and kristen? >> a lot of emotion at san jose city council meeting all over the domed theaters and whether they should be protected as historic landmarks after the owners shut them down.

matt? >> as you said the owners of the senator try theaters this san jose on winchester are planning on shutting these down but a group wants to save them from demolition. the meet was emotional because they want the theaters designated as landmarks, having beenibility in 1964 and owners want to sell the property and get out of 9 movie business but many want the dome preserved and re-used. >> very significant. both because of the building and the history and structure and architecture. >> we believe with careful planning our property can again be reimagined and develop 349 that will conserve the needs of our community. >> this is part of the grand opening, 50 years ago designating it as a landmark

makes it harder for future owners to demolish it. they voted 7-4 to not deem it historical. the resources commission will make the final decision next month but the committee wants input from the city. the city of richmond is a step closer to having the highest minimum wage in the state. the city council voted to move toward raising the minimum wage to $12.30 an hour by 2017. the vote came after the marry scended the usually idea to put it on the november ballot. if it passes another reading next month the minimum rage goes to $the an hour and up from there with business leaders saying a higher wage drives business to other leaders where labor is cheaper. >> a tense stand off ended in gunfire last night.

santa rosa and napa and down to san jose, and morgan hill could get warmer at 76 and along the coast we are at 62 in bodega bay. tonight we are in the mid-40's to nearly 50 inland and mid-50's an the bay shore to the coast. while you were sleeping we had high pressure moving to the east, in the clock wise shore so offshore wind and well have so much sunshine and warmer temperatures, and jet stream over the ocean will stay to the north but the cold front will start to bring if high are clouds and a breeze so we will have cooler weather it seems to me. >> on tuesday, you can see especially on wednesday, we have a weak cold front but it provides light rain on tuesday night interest wednesday. evaporation rate is not so great but it is higher as the sun angle is higher and the days are longer. tomorrow is two degrees cooler

climbing, low-to-upper 60's at the coast and upper 60's to mid-60's at the bay and low-to-mid 70's inland. enjoy. >> we have a problem in the north bay from san rafael. with the car that hit a deer northbound 101 at san pedro road and possibly one lane blocked. in the southbound direction traffic is running smooth from lucas valley to 580. over the altamont pass, not so smooth and busy at 33 miles per hour headed away from 205 and over the pass and up to 37 miles per hour and at vasco it loans up. light rain has no service between japantown and the conclusion center because of a homicide at 2nd and st. james. bart, muni, all running on time. no delays. >> more new on the breaking news from san jose, police are on the scene of the 10th homicide of the year. this discovery as leyla gulen mentions is affecting the

commuters. >> police are blocking off a large area here around st. james park in downtown san jose on the site with detectives here. 9-1-1 reported a "person down" and officers found an unresponsive male on the ground. he died on the scene. this is the second homicide in the city this week. a man was shot and killed in south san jose on monday. this is the 10 the homicide of year in san jose. the investigation is just getting underway. we expect police officers to have the area blocked off. the investigation could take hours. >> richmond took the step toward boosting the minimum hourly rate. katie marzullo is in richmond

with more. >> if the ordinance passes richmond will have the highest minimum wage in the state. the city council was originally considering three options from $11 to $15 an hour they went with the $12.30 an hour choice. it passed the first reading. compared to the current minimum wage which is $8. the hike was going to go to voters in november but the mayor said, why wait? people want it now. it is not going to happen overnight. >> this is like the phased in approach so that the increase would be phaseed in over a period years. during the transition period the minimum wage would be $9 an hour and it goes up to $9.60 in 2015 and $11.52 in 2016 and the final

amount $12.30 in 2017. one of the members of the city council objected and the vote was 6-1. the city councilman voted no not because he was against an increase but he wished they would take more time and study it. there are business owners who are worried of the costs and how this affects their business moving forward. a second reading on the ordinance will happen next month. breaking overnight a mess for overnight drivers in the east bay, a car carrier hit a fire hydrant in san leandro at 1:30 this morning shearing off the hydrant and sending water spewing into the air at the on-ramp to northbound 880 in front of the honda dealership. the water was shut off, the on-ramp may still have flooding because there was a clogged vent but this could impact drives in

the 48-year-old patrick brennan was arrested in january charged with setting 13. fires in san jose that cost more than $6 million in damage. >> a driver is in the hospital and under arrest after being shot by an alameda county sheriff in san lorenzo. we were over the scene when the driver tried to run them down and forced an officer to open fire. this began near hayward at 5:30 p.m. yesterday when deputies pulled over the man driving a black bmw. he took off. there was a chase on 880. he get away. the car then was spotted and a deputy approached with drawn guns, the driver tried to run hill down. >> deputy fired two shots in fear for safety. the vehicle continued moving. the suspect was slot in the arm.

the san jose city council has decided not to deem the city's 1960's era domed movie theater historical. several residented ask the city to save the domed theater, a single screen theater, by nominating it for city landmark status. the owners of the property which includes century 21 and 22 theaters will be replaced by mixed use development. the final decision will be made next month. >> the search for the missing malaysia airlines is south of perth, australia. the transport minister said piles were deleted off of a pilot's flight similarity and police are working to restore that. nothing has been found unusual. the tran port minister said reports of people off the coast

>> t.s.a. said she lives in a san francisco homeless shelter and has cancer and wants to go someplace where it is warm. she is in jail this morning on $7,500 bail. >> oakland is limiting what landlords can pass to tenants after upgrades to resident controlled building. only 70 percent of the upgraded costs can be passed on to person tenants and rents cannot be raced by more than 10 percent a year. oakland landlords can pat 100 percent of costs to tenants over five years. that has pushed out long time residents and the city council is expected to ratify the deal in the coming weeks. >> how far away from spring are we? not very. mike? >> some will go right over the to which the equator and my grit to the north making the day longer and possibly warmer. possibly. we have a killing trend that starts tomorrow.
