>> the club has a smoky atmosphere. the fire started in a storage area in the back of the building. workers noticed it as they closed at 1:45. they tried to put it out with extinguishers. they called firefighters and the firefighters called a first alarm. the fire -- they had to make sure it did not spread. >> fires grow double their size every five hints and we need to get enough resources in place from the beginning. >> the damage from the inside shows fire efforts to put it out made a mess if the back of the building and firefighter could not determine the cause. arson coming out to try to figure out what started the fire. it could be a few days before the owners can on the club.

this morning a driver was driven into the berkeley marina overnight. katie marzullo, crews brought out high-tech gear to get the van out? >> no ordinary tow truck. something bigger and stronger was needed to get the partly submerged van out of water and it mate for a close call for the man behind the wheel. he is 75 years old. he was trying to maneuver the van from the parking lot and maybe the gas pedal was stuck. he went over the embankment into the bay, a very dangerous situation but it could have been worse. >> he is very lucky. very lucky. >> he get out on his own and not hurt. the next issue is getting the van out of the water.

they brought in a $1 million-to-truck. -- million tow truck and didn't want to risk pulling the van over the rocks but brought if a massive tow truck to lift it out the water. they brought in a rescue swimmer but that person was not needed. two women are accused of unthinkable, abusing and starving three children and chaining one to the floor so she could not reach her food. they were found on friday when sheriff deputies were called to a home. officers say the victims were severally malnourished, beaten and emotionally abused. deputies arrested 31-year-old and 43-year-old. one child was taken to the hospital and the other two are

in the care of child protective services. police looking for the person who shot can killed a young woman in richmond. the victim is a woman in her 30's and shot at south 4th street and florida at 10:00 last night with no word on a suspect or motive. san francisco police are investigating a shooting near city college that left one wounded. officers heard gunshots while on patrol around 8:30 last might and officers evacuated the whole foods on ocean avenue after chasing the suspects toward the store. they certained parking lots but could not no one the suspects. the victim was shot in the ankle and is expected to survive. >> the troubled san jose police department has more trouble short staffed, they could see the ranks thin more in the come ing weeks and months. >> san jose residents are worried about safety. more so now that police predict

good morning, everyone. i remember the landing gear collapsed on take off and they ended in the sand. a lot of cloud cover and low clouds along the bay and coast and fog to the north. here is our temperatures, most of us in the upper 40's to 50's and across the bridge it is 50 and 55 in the ferry building, and headed downtown, san francisco, mission district, glen park, all about 50 along with sunset and beam and half moon bay are at 50 along with richmond and san leandro is warmer at 51 and 52 in pittsburg and 43 in santa clara and palo alto at 42 and walnut creek at 45 and a cool one out there this morning. here is a look at the cloud cover at 7:00 this morning. all the way down to san jose and cannot climb completely over the hills so most of the east bay

valleys will be clear so you will be in the warm are areas. the high clouds are coming at noon and the low clouds pull out of the bay along the coast as the sea breeze brings us much cooler weather at two to seven degrees cooler than yesterday. upper 50's to low 60's if san francisco and that below average. everyone else is mid-to-upper 60's around the the bay and inland is chose to average. we have clouds along the coast and fog to the north. the cloud cover will spill into the bay. we will have mid-to-upper 40's around the bay shore and low-to-upper 40's inland. a light chance of rain on tuesday when the pattern changes tuesday into wednesday and another chance with another system coming in wednesday into thursday so we hope we can get significant rain out of system.

it is late in the year for that but we could get an inch up north and maybe quarter to half an inch. until then, we are one to two degrees cooler saturday, sunday, monday, and 5- to 10-degrees cooler on tuesday with chance of rain late into wednesday. >> we have an accident to start off in san jose southbound 101 at blossom hill blocking two lanes and we are seeing slowing as you approach scene of the accident. if you head in the northbound direction traffic is not affected. first, though, drive time traffic 680 southbound from walnut creek to dublin is 15 minutes and 101 southbound from senator that rose to san francisco is 50 minutes but watch out for the fog. through the santa cruz mountains into los gatos is 25 minutes. at the bay bridge toll plaza, traffic is moving there and this were a few extra cars on the
