to investigate a fatal motor accident at fremont boulevard. look at the video shot a few seconds ago. the collision between a mini cooper and motorcyclist was reported after officers were flagged down by passing drivers. the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. it appears alcohol was a factor. the driver of the vehicle has been identified as 23 years old from emeryville arrested for suspicion of d.u.i. before police could make the arrest he ignored police requests to stop the car and took off down fremont and crashing the car into a pole. >> the suspect jumped out of the vehicle and ran into a field. the officers gave chase and took the suspect interest custody were the vehicle caught on fire.

>> heavy debris continues to liter the intersection with many evidence markers as investigators gather evidence. this started at taco bell a mile and a half up the street where police initially made contact with the suspect. they asked him to stop and he ignored the requests and this intersection is where the suspect clashed with the motorcycle. you can see the debris. this intersection will be closed for a while and neighborhood businesses are affected. this mcdonald's would usually be open but they closed because the area is closed. big impact. thank you for the report. leyla gulen? >> nick said the intersection could be closed until 9:00 this morning could severely impact

the commute. you have a couple of alternates including thornton and el dorado from the east bay to connect to the nimitz which takes you to highway 84 and then the dumbarton bridge. it is not affecting traffic, 56 miles per hour through young city and fremont and the dumbarton at 61 miles per hour so top speeds and starting with the bay bridge toll plaza the metering lights are turned on and at look at san rafael, still drive, pushing to the southbound direction with tail lights away from 580 toward san francisco will take you, now, 20 to 23 minutes. the rain is on the way. and mike nicco is on his way. >> live doppler 7 hd shows moving down afternoon the coast

water is shooting up about 75' into the area in the middle of the night in the ten door line a driver crashes into a fire hydrant. this happened before 1:00 o'clock this morning and witnesses say a man driving a car crashed into a minivan and the tax knocked over the fire hydrant and the driver of the car was taken into custody open suspicion of drunk driving. on the peninsula, a five hour long stand off kept neighbors from their home into the night and burglaries are still use with amy hollyfield in palo alto to show us what happened. kristen, police thought the men were still inside the home and they had surveillance video showing the men inside the house and police tried to coax them out and they surrounded the home and tried to get then out of there for five hours. at 11:30 the s.w.a.t. team stormed inside and found an

empty house. they think someone was in there and the home owners interrupted a burglary at 6:30. >> show was out of the home and returned home and noticed the rear door of the home appeared to have been forced open. at the same time she heard a door slamming from inside her home and there should not have been anyone else inside the house. >> the homeowner pulled up a live speed of -- live feed of the pug particulars in her room and police thing it was not a live feed but the burglars escaped immediately before the police arrived. in the mystery of flight 370, officials are defending their decision this morning to

on this morning for burglar whose forced people in palo alto to evacuate their homes last night. amy hollyfield has that story. it was a tense night in palo alto and the home was 51ed by police for five hours. police say a woman came home and interrupted a bug hear at her house at 6:30 and they say she noticed a back door was open and she heard a door slamming and called police. she and the officers were able to watch a live feed of the surveillance video from inside the home on the smartphone and they could see two men inside the home. police called out the negotiating teams. at 1:30 the s.w.a.t. team decided to enter the house and found no one was this. it turned out the video was not live. they think the gives escaped right before police arrived. they discovered how they got in forcing open a rear door and
