this morning as the f.b.i. raided several bay area locations. matt is following the developments. >> this is a multiyear investigation and the big fish caught in the f.b.i. net is state senator leland yee arrested at a san francisco home as part of the massive raid across the bay area and sacramento. >> news cameras captured have it i.e.d. of the senator being brought handcuffed in the back of the car. he was are ad on public corruption charms and is being held until the first appearance in federal court. the f.b.i. raids two buildings associated with him including his home on 24th avenue and san francisco and the office at state capital in sacramento. c.h.p. officers were guarding the doors to the office as f.b.i. agents were inside. investigators did not get and the specifics of the case. >> right now the f.b.i. is conducting multiple search warrants and arrest warrants throughout the bay area. that is all i can comment.

there will be more. >> the raids continue at this hour across the pay area and in sacramento. he has been involved in local politics sin the late 80's serving on the school board and board of supervisors before elected to the assembly in 2002 and the senate in 2006. he was re-elected in 2010. he is the first chinese american ever elected to the state senate. he currently is running for secretary of state. >> he is scheduled to appear in court in federal court at 1:30 this afternoon. we expect to learn more then of what specific charges he is facing. another big name arrested in the f.b.i. raid is raymond shrimp boy chow in san francisco. authorities say chow is a long time bay area leaders of a criminal syndicate with a rap sheet back to 1978 but out of prison for more than a decade

after claim, he fund his life around. >> another raid took place in san mateo with f.b.i. agents searching a home on 42nd avenue. they combed through a garage and a car and hauled away laptops and other items in bags. f.b.i. officials would now say specifically whether the raid on this location is related to the others. >> another raid was at bay steel incorporated in san francisco. nick has that part of the story. nick? >> new information i just confirmed with special agent with the criminal investigation division of the i.r.s. and says the agents inside still are, indeed, conducting warrant searches connected with the federal investigation into corruption. this is what we know: the company is one of more than 15 locations throughout the bay area actively being searched by

pearl and local agents. this is video you will see only on abc7 capturing agents escorted employees in and out of the warehouse with armed police, federal and united states agents entering and exiting removing boxes and other items from inside. an agent with the i.r.s. team got here a few minutes ago with self people, many of them looking like customers, turned away at the door by agents. the f.b.i. agents and local police will continue serving arrests and search war raps -- warrants throughout the day. the dozen or so agents inside the building have for plans to leave any time soon. background here, leland yee is one of three democratic senators facing criminal charges. ronald calderon is facing public corruption charges and robert wright of englewood was found

longer than normal. >> getting to downtown san francisco was tough because a tree came crashing down before 8:00 at stockton. it landed on a car. the driver is okay. >> sounded like "boom." a garage attendant heard it and thought it was a car wreck. >> he was shocked. >> despite the rain, it is tough to overlook the positive. >> finally we are getting rain. we need it. hopefully it is getting into the reservoirs. >> that is the positive look of it. we are getting a break in san francisco but don't get too comfortable. there is more to come.

happening right now, law enforcement agencies from across the state are attending a public memorial service for a mendocino sheriff deputy who grew up in napa for ricky del fiorentino killed in the line of duty, age 48, by an amended kidnapping suspect. the public memorial is held at the auditorium in fort bragg following a procession. malaysian authorities say a french satellite captured images of 122 objects in the search area for the missing flight 370. the defense minister says that is close to where three other satellites detected objects in the indian ocean. some are bright, indicating possibly solid debris and up to 25 yards long. a dozen planes and five ships resume the search after seas calm down but so far nothing is

on the aerial firefighting ladder. look what happened: firefighters rescued him seconds before part of the building collapseed. doesn't that give you goose bumps? the fire we destroys an apartment building under construction. >> a popular san francisco restaurant destroyed by a fire nearly two years ago is now re-opened. the mayor cut the ribbon marking a new beginning for the restaurant which went up in flames in october of 2012. investigators say the four started next door and spread to the restaurant causing $7 million in damage to three buildings. this morning, the mayor thanked the firefighters for preventing the spread of the fire. >> the new apple products and apps are on display as mac world opens in san francisco the ultimate event for fans of apple products although they stopped attending in 2009, organizers

around petaluma and napa and santa rosa. you can see the light-to-moderate shower moving across santa clara to milpitas and alum rock with another 10 or 15 minutes of rain before it moves into the high country. it will move over a lot of the area that needs the rain. it will not benefit the yard or garden. at san francisco to burlingame there are healthy rains but they are sporadic. that is the case moving forward headed over to alameda, oakland, and hayward and castro valley and you can see up north a stray shower near petaluma. our heavy showers are behind us with scattered light shows moving forward and our next heavy rain is saturday with sunday looking better and unsettled through next week. this is how it looks at san mateo bridge which is causing issues with ponding on the road.

the temperatures are below average with upper 50's to low 60's. tonight we are cooler than this morning mid-40's to low 50's and we are scattered. heavy rain is showing it is moving east of san jose at noon and look how they are freckles across the bay area and that is how widely scattered the rain will be in the afternoon and evening and overnight and through tomorrow morning. drizzle to light rain in the north bay and some of that will slight into the hard of the bay by noon and in the afternoon that will become very scattered. one storm through yesterday and the other storm moving through now and another in the gulf of alaska and the other held back. near korea comes next week. what we are deal be with is a lot of snow up north. yes, winter weather up there. you can find great discounts for spring skiing at a lot of lake
