aftershocks continue to rattle southern california. more than 100 aftershocks rumbled through the area, the latest a 2.720 miles southeast of los angeles. the number of aftershocks are formal. seismologists say that magnitude 7.5 earthquake along the same fault could prove more catastrophic than one along the san andreas fault. we're getting a break today from a series of storms bringing rain to the bay area. a spring storm yesterday soaked san francisco with three-quarters of an inch of rain. the rain caused a number of problems, including knocking down a large tree branch into power lines in burlingame. the sky looks nice. some clouds there. there are were two inches of rain that fell there yesterday

and more wet weather is coming. let's check in with meteorologist leigh glaser with the live doppler 7hd. >> has been a nice break today. everybody drying out. as you notice the clouds are starting to increase a bit across the bay area. live doppler 7hd not picking up any moisture here locally, although the higher elevations between morgan hill and gilroy, picking up little there, and in the high country, picked up close to two feet of snow. the higher elevations overnight. you can see the snow showers continuing to wind down a bit, and that's exactly what is going to happen overnight tonight. let's show you a preview of what you can expect tomorrow. 5:00 a.m. commute time. look for thickening clouds and this is the next storm system, a stronger system, by lunchtime. it will start to roar in here and 3:00, very heavy rain expected across the bay area, and this is your 5:00 evening commute. it is going to be wet and we're also going to bring quite a bit

the way to the area. david wright is aboard the ship tonight. >> a new lead ship and a new search coordinator, raising hopes the hunt for flight 370 may finally find answers by the end of this fourth week of searching. >> the best equipped ship to support this. >> australia's 6500-ton ocean shield about to set sale for the search area, designated as the most likely spot where the flight went down. it will deploy this u.s. navy acoustic device, trailing behind the ship, trailing for pings from the black box recorder. >> once we get a detection from the pinger, we'll put the-a-thon news underwater vehicle in the water to conduct a side scan to match the debris field. >> the searchers must locate surface debris, an effort that

tuesday, the first day of april, as well as wednesday. here's the system, the nice break we got today. but you can already see the storm system, the clouds gathering right next to this cold front, and this is what is going to move in our direction to bring us increasing rain and it could be heavy at times as well as some very gusty winds, and here's a look at the timing. start off tomorrow morning with thickening clouds but looks like the north bay will start to see the rain pick up around 11:00 tomorrow. 5:00 commute time, it is just going to be sloppy. we gate little bit 0 of break. 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, and then after that, rain funneling back in. tuesday, 5:00 a.m., very wet, and you will continue to see the periods of rain off and on through tuesday. tuesday is our best chance of seeing isolated thunderstorms as well. 5:00 commute time tuesday, very sloppy. and there it is. 7:00 as well. the rain just is going to
