the bay area. this is the view heading down interstate 680 this afternoon. ice mixed in with rain. >> and a soaking in san francisco. some unprepared this afternoon had to run for cover the city has seen periods of rain throughout the day. wow. this is indeed a rare sight. a hail storm blanketing the pea-sized hail piled up to nearly an inch. let's go live to get a check of conditions in marin county. and i'd say it's fairly gray. thunderstorms throughout the bay area. and how much will it clear.

plunged off a krif near highway 1. detectives have not said if the 93-year-old was in the car that disappeared today. his family offered a $5,000 reward in the hopes of finding him. >> the attorney for the man prosecutors call the central figure in the racketeering conspiracy involving state senator leland yee says his man was ensnared by the fbi. >> vic lee joins us live with the latest. >> a close confident to state senator leland yee was in court today was on court today. the judge continued a hearing to decide whether or not to make that bond $250,000. prosecutors want to keep him in

start to get pounded with this rainfall and some local thunderstorms as well in the next half hour or so. next couple hours going to be stormy around the bay area. here is a view showing rain drops hitting the lens. cloudy and rainy conditions, temperatures 50s in san francisco. 56 oakland. and 49 in half moon bay. looking northward, lots of dark low clouds looking up towards north bay there, we've had a thunderstorm. readings 46 in santa rosa. 47 in petaluma. and one more live view dramatic-looking cloudy sky over san jose now. these forecast features showers, possibly more thunderstorms and small hail and winds tonight. snow possible in hills. cold air is settling into bay area peaks now. there will be partial clearing

tomorrow, stormy weather ahead of this approaching trough. more areas of showers and thundershowers behind more-concentrated rainfall we'll start at 7:00 this evening. there will be breaks here and there but will continue to see showers that will dissipate just as the rush is beginning. then, later in the day. sun breaking through a little bit. partly cloudy day. rainfall going to add up a bit. we're projecting totals half an inch to three quarters of an inch in the higher elevations. and to our south we have a winter weather advisory in effect. 2 to 5 inches of snow in these areas. 4 to 8 inches of snow above 4,000 feet. a wintery condition across the
