sailors helped her three-year-old sister, cora, and the girls parents. the frigate is expected to arrive in san diego. >> this is a remote region of the east pacific. very few shipping lanes which necessitated the frigate leaving san diego to help out. >> yesterday the 129th rescue wing released this video showing team members pair shooting into the pacific ocean. it was thought they might have to use the helicopter but hasn't been necessary. they are prepared to fuel and launch it if needed, as demonstrated in this video. the kaufmans were two week into the sale around the world when lyra became covered in a rash. a family adventure that leaves the parents with a very confident story to -- very different story to tell. search and rescue teams say their options are running out in

trying to find a missing woman from menlo park. she left a note saying she was going for a hike and hasn't been seen since. surveillance video shows her in a parking lot at mt. tam. her rental card was found. she was wearing shorts and running shoes. little protection against the bad weather. >> we have had several large storms come through. however, on sunday, the weather was generally good. and there was large number of people out last sunday from different running clubs that we're aware of and at this time we haven't had any other clues. search teams know she is not on any of the trails on mt. tam. officials are now reassessing the search. the highway patrol suspects drunk driving may hey caused a crash that killed two teenager near vacaville. friends of the victims visited the crash site. three other teens suffered

serious injuries. witnesses say a pickup truck was speeding before it overturned last night. it appears none of the five teens wore seatbelts. all of them were ejected from the truck. the 189-year-old driver and a 16-year-old girl both died. happening now in napa county. highway 121 is blocked in both directions after a deadly crash southwest of napa. happened at 3:30. five people were injured, including a six-year-old boy who emergency crews had to perform cpr on. one person has been killed. authorities have not said who. the road is expected to re-open around 6:30. so about a half hour. novato police are investigating what appears to be a homocide just after 5:30 last night. the body was located a short disstrands from a nearby road in an open space area. the victim's name has not been released. the police want to hear from

anyone who may have information about the case. they emphasize there is no threat to the community. fairfield police want to learn more about a shooting that sent four young people to the hospital. someone opened fire after a fight started outside a large house party on orchid street. officers found four victims when they arrived. all of them are being treated at local hospitals. so far, no arrests have been made. police used tear gas and pepper spray to restore order when a spring break party got out of control near santa barbara, a rye -- riot broke out after an annual party. a police officer was hit in the face with a backpack filled with large bottles. rioters then threw rocks at police, and others vandalized law enforcement vehicles. 100 people were arrested and another 44 went to the hospital. there have been several new bills proposed to battle corruption at the capital, come

offering three democratic state senators have been suspended, including leland yee of san francisco. indicted of corruption and drug trafficking charges. investigators believe it's tildes in with his effort to raise campaign funds. here's the proposed legislation. first, an amendment to the state constitution would allow lawmakers to be suspended without pay. to fight corruption there are proposals to keep lobbyists from hessing fundraisers in their homes, be band from giving gifts. fundraising would not be allowed in the final 100 days of legislative session and would require candidates to report donations faster than they currently are. a look how a new california law has-over reduced the number of immigrants being detained. >> major change a bayaway tollway. >> i'm meteorologist leigh glaser. today, temperatures upper 70s.

fewer immigrants find themselves getting turned over to federal authorities after getting arrested by police in california. this trend has surfaced since the trust act took effect in jap. the trust act requires law enforcement to release undocumented immigrants without serious criminal records faster instead of holding them for federal immigration officials. the "associated press" found a 44% drop in the number of people being turned over to federal authorities. starting at midnight, you'll pay more to cross the golden gate bridge. the higher tolls mean fast track commuters pay $6 and pay by plate by $7. tolls will good up again by 25-cents in july 2015 and by a quarter every year until 2018. bridge district directors approved he high are tolls in february. the district believes the higher tolls will help close a budget dissit of $142 million over the next five years. drivers will see some changes if they park in downtown

in petaluma chp officers got an unusual call. buffalo on the loose. the massive beasts were running around near stoney point around 7:30 this morning. here's the dispatch from chp. >> six to seven buffaloes and a cow in the road. another call, second call, said that there's at least 17 of them in the roadway and they're charging at vehicles. >> see how big? the size of that suv. turns out there were six buffalo, one cow, no reports of
