>> it's happening in san jose. sky 7 live over this neighborhood a fire broke out along moss brook circle just a short time ago. >> the fire burning near west gate shopping mall. it's not too far from saratoga and hamilton avenues. you can see another chopper in the view there. flames have destroyed one home. that burned to the ground. serious roof damage, the two adjacent homes and we're just eye balling this and trying to figure out the situation here. >> we can tell these homes are

very close together in this neighborhood. we have video just a few minutes ago. firefighters tell us a gas line burning inside of the house has been keeping flames going and power lines in the area are burns as well. police are now evacuating people from this neighborhood. we've been getting calls here on abc7 news from people throughout an jose seeing the smoke and wondering what is going on. it's been kicking up first dark plume now another dark plume the area is prime yarly eichler homes. >> scott arthur was on the scene and is live on the phone right now. scott, how many houses are involved here? >> well, we just took a pass by

the fire team they kept us out of there because of safety issues. looks three homes are involved. homes, main home started was on fire when fire arrived was gusted the home west of it is also gutted. you can see through the living room window to backyard of the home i couldn't tell how much damage had been done in that house. cars on the driveway have been burned. they're down to metal. but fire is getting a handle on it. you can see the smoke is turning white now. >> there are a few shots we can see active flames. in your estimation are they concerned about the damage to power lines in the area? >> i was trying to get here, traffic was really bad. and so a middle school was getting out. it's a half block away.

a surveillance camera took a photo of her. rescue teams searched for her over the weekend but since then called off the search. all they found was a rental car with two cell phones inside her parents are now working to help figure out what happened. >> she's a very strong person. she loves hiking. >> reports indicating she updated her linkedn page after disappearing but officials are now telling abc7 news that is not the case. >> there has been another flood in the lower hath neighborhood. witnesses say around 2:30 saturday morning water started gushing down along with mud and debris. crews had to evacuate a large hole in the street. you may recall a similar

accident a month ago on the same block. in november of 012 a sink hole opened up in the same block, partially swallowing a sewer truck. >> drivers krogsing the bridge into san francisco started to fork out more money the toll went up to $6, now $7 for those that don't. this is not the end of the hikes on the tolls. in 2018 it will cost $7 with fast track and $8 without. a state-protected bird is refusing to move from its home on the structure. there are about 800 of them on the hold span. caltrans will spend $12 million to speed up work. >> i think those birds are the

sky 7 hd over breaking news now a fire just destroyed several homes on moss brook circle. this is the western end of santa clara valley. you can see there are active flames here among the rubble.

you can see there are a line of several cars on the hidel righthand side of the screen. we know the power lines have been involved. there has been difficulty in getting gas turned off in his homes. we'll stay on top of it and continue to follow it for you. the aunt of a 1-year-old girl responded she is responding to medication after being rescued from sea. she became sick 1500 miles southwest of san diego. the 129th rescue wing provided this video the paratroopers the troops based on moffett field. >> the city of walnut creek has been a popular shopping destination. with it comes a parking problem.

ballpark. a cooler pattern will settle in near week's end here is a pull back and a look showing big ridge of high pressure dominating our weather picture. and reflecting a jet stream and any cooler air to the north. so this warm ridge will be charge of bay area weather for a couple days, certainly, tomorrow, we'll see temperatures peaking tomorrow, coastal temperatures may drop off tomorrow. looking at the projection for high temperatures for the week ahead in livermore, you can see that livermore peaks out at 85 degrees tomorrow then a gradual tapering off throughout the weekend. by sunday, saturday, sunday, highs into upper to mid-70s then, dropping off sharply into 60s on monday. so most of the bay area will see

we continue to follow breaking news in san jose. sky 7 has been live for the past hour or so over the scene of a neighborhood fire on the san jose-campbell border on moss brook circle. one home burned to the ground. two others adjacent to that home are seriously damaged. >> abc7 news reporter david

louie is live now with the latest for us. david? >> reporter: as you can see, there is still a column of smoke here on moss brook circle. what you're looking at is still an active fire investigation there is an active gas line. let's switch to sky 7 hd which can give us a good overview. you can see the house where the fire started is destroyed. to the west that have house, the flames did spread to another house causing damage. then, fire did start to spread house east of the original side of the fire but it's the damage that has been contained just to the exterior of the house. what is going on inside is that until they're able to cap that gas line, they cannot tote kwally put out flames otherwise there would be natural gas leaking through and any planes would go back to that point of origin where gas is

coming from to cause a possible explosion. they have to wait for crews first. now, we have video from the ground as well giving you a better sense these are eichl homes the walls do not go up to the roof allowing air to vent the fire and fuel it. causing it to spread quickly across the roof line. on the inside of the house. so that is what caused the fire in the origin house to spread so quickly. we're told there are one person in the house at that time of the fire. and there are 12 people altogether evacuated they have been taken nearby to moreland middle school about two blocks from here. we're told nobody has been injured everybody is okay. but they're going to shelter there for the time being until they can sort out when it's safe for the residents of the houses to go back in they did evacuate houses across the street behind the house burning as well as on either

probably in the search so far. >> reporter: australian authorities said one of the vessel was an american ping locator heard two separate signals >> that would be consistent with transmissions from both flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder. >> saturday night into sunday crews heard something like this. the first signal lasted two hours, 20 minutes the ship turned, picking up another signal for 13 minutes two pings about a mile apart. now, this navy ship, ocean shield is zoning in on a shawl area just three square miles of the indian ocean. waters are deep now, but the teams want to hear a third ping. that will allow them to triangulate where signals are coming from. >> that will be the trigger at the moment to launch the underwater vehicle with a more active sonar and phone shally

open field >> we saw sparks around us. and the sparks >> nobody was hurt. faa is investigating and the balloon company tells us the incident is under review. crashes do happen last spring daunte stallworth hospitalized after a hot air balloon crashed into power lines above south florida. and dreams of a mid air wedding turned into a nightmare for another couple. their balloon crashed, hit a fence, skidding through trees. the couple and 11 others were not hurt. they say they don't consider the incident a bad omen, just hope the crashing was reserved for proposal, not the wedding.
