the girl was walking with her mother and sisters in september of 2011 and hit and killed by a teach are driving to work. the child's parents niled suit against the city and the driver. the suit claimed that the city knew a high rate of pedestrian collisions occurred at the intersection but did not do enough to make the crossing safer. east palo alto has installed a flashing crosswalk light at the intersection. >> east bay police are investigating what they call a takeover style robbery in pleasant hill at 7:30 last night. this was at the verizon store. officers say an armed suspect confronted the employees and nosed them to on the safe and took cash and electronics and last seen running westbound. the remain employees escaped injury. >> a field poll shows governor brown should have no problem on the campaign trail to winning

san jose with streets closed. we go to nick on east capitol expressway. knick? -- nick? >> i am in san jose and the reason the streets are closed because police are investigating a hit-and-run accident. look at my shoulders, you can see the investigators looking at the scene. around 1:55 this morning, police received a call of a pedestrian struck in the street. the pedestrian was not if the crosswalk at the time and we know that was an adult male if his 30's or 40's. what police say is that male victim was dead on arrival and they are investigating this as an active hit-and-run accident and the driver did not stick an empty they do not have a vehicle description. they do not know the age of the driver. they know that bed is -- body is there.

they need to on the express way but they cannot do that until they process the scene and the coroner arrives, eastbound and westbound capitol expressway closed and the on-ramp. we know this is a major thoroughfare and we will update leyla gulen with information to give you updates. news. nick, thank you. if you hope in the search for the missing malaysia airlines flight 370, two more signals have been detected deep in the indian ocean. crews hope they come from the two data recorders which are nearing the end of their battery life. officials think they have found the right spot. they have picked up more sounds from deep underwater and have sent more ships and planes to

the location. they think the sounds could be pingers from the black box. >> there is new hope teams will find malaysia airlines flight 370. the veilian navy vessel picked up two more signals from deep in the indian ocean and the ship is using a sophisticated united states navy pinger located detected four transmissions in the same area. >> i believe we are sending in the right area but we need to visually identify aircraft wreckage before we can confirm with certainty this is the final resting place. >> 11 military aircraft, 14 ships were sent out for a closer inspection. officials hope to narrow the search area to deploy a small submarine or underwater vehicle to search if debris on the sea floor. this could take days or weeks. >> i would say we are more confident we have found the haystack. if you drew a circle around the

cloud cover here. you will see the sunshine there and the east bay is the warmest with the rest of us feeling the sunshine back to the coast. clouds return to the same area tonight. cooler temperatures this weekend but nearly normal and we are above only hitting 80 in san jose. mid-to-upper 70's on most of the peninsula and milbrae is 71 in the cool spot and low-to-mid 60's along the coast and upper 60's in downtown and south san francisco and sausalito and 76 in san rafael and low-to-mid 60's at your beaches and along the east bay shore you will have mid-to-upper 70's headed to fremont and castro valley and 79 in concord and the rest of us around 80 to 83 in the east bay valley. tonight is comfortable, with the clouds rolling in again and most areas but the south bay and the east bay valley will help out if low-to-mid 50's. high pressure is pushed off to

in san jose and nick is on the scene at east capitol expressway and seven trees boulevard. nick? >> this will affect the commute. if you usually take snell and monterey you have to go all the way around to 87. this is closeed. this is a fatal hit-and-run accident investigation. look at video we shot when we arrived: a man in his 30's or 40's was hit eastbound plane of capital expressway and not in a crosswalk because there is no crosswalk at the intersection. this happened at 1:55 this morning when a pedestrian called saying there is a man in the road. police arrived on the scene and confirmed he was dead. it is an adult male in his 30's and 40's but there is no vehicle or driver description and they do not know whether that driver

is aware they hit the pedestrian. i spoke with lieutenant tommy troy and he told me off camera that he says what he was going to do is fine out whether the car should have sustained enough damage where the driver may or may not be aware. this area remains closed and you have to go around to highway 87. in san jose for abc7 news. >> developing news in richmond, police are investigating the deadly shooting of a teenage boy. our reporter is at police headquarters with new information. we just got a description of a vehicle and this just came in from police, this could be the suspect's vehicle. take a second look at this information. they want you to look out for 1998 lexus four door a white car and the license plate is

them all the helpful information. the investigation is progressing and they have a possible suspect. they just have to find her. we have breaking news from pennsylvania with like pictures of several students stabbed at a high school near pittsburgh this morning. you can see an ambulance on the season over franklin regional high school in the city of murrayville outside of pittsburgh. eight students have been stabbed and they were stabbed inside the school 45 minutes ago as the school day was getting started. officials say the suspect has been taken interest custody with no word on who the suspect could be, a student or not, related to school or not. first responder says it does not appear victims suffer life threatening injuries. >> reporting continues on twitter by following us at abc7

haystack? >> new information on the ocean rescue of a san diego family would will arrive on dry land in son california. rescuers from moffett field were first to reach the family boat off the mexico coast to help a one-year-old seriously ill and the pilot spoke with abc7 news by phone saying he was one of the most difficult rescues of his 20 year career. >> with the weather and ceiling and limited daylight and then just the sense of urge answer for a one-year-old baby it posed a unique challenge. >> she and her family were transferred to a navy ship when the boat began to sink. the baby is improving and the parents are facing criticism for taking two small children on a big trip. >> new detail on the massive construction five in san francisco's mission bay neighborhood with developers moving forward with plans to rebuild. the intense flames were captured in the march 11 blaze with a
