live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> manners for joining us. we start with the search of a suspect in the death of a teen. >> police need help in finding a female suspect in the shooting death of a 16-year-old. amy hollyfield joins us from the police department. >> witnesses came forward. >> yes, detectives are out right now following up on leads. witnesses have come guard and given them some good information including this description, the car they are looking for, a white lexus sedan licence

they believe a woman drove away from the murder scene last night in that car. they say she is in her 20's. she believe they does have a relationship with the boy. they do not know if it was friend or romantic. they not sure the nature of the relationship but they knew each other and they got in an argument before the 16-year-old boy was shot and killed. police found out about the shooting through the shotspotter system that detected gunfire at 10:30 last night and they went to fleming avenue and found the boy's body in the street. people heard the shots in the area so a lot people came out of their homes and some people did cooperate and gave police helpful information. they are grateful for that and hope more people will come forward and help solve this case. they want to find this woman and find out what she knows.

i spoke with the coroner and the autopsy is not complete yet so at this important they are not releasing the boy's name. a 16-year-old student is in custody accused of a shocking bloody stabbing rampage in murraysville, a suburb of pittsburgh, person, 20 with injuries and several life-threatening injuries. >> i will head up that way. >> here is a victim being taken out on a stretcher. >> my friend said he just saw him running with a knife and then he turned the corner and there are kids holding their stomach with blood, the whole science wing was...chaos and crazy. >> the attack happened this morning around 7:00 eastern before classes had even started.

at franklin high school located east of pittsburgh which is home for 1,200 students. reports say that the suspect, a student, was stabbing people. there was crying and screaming in the halls. >> the officer at that time had the subject, the 6-year-old subject, in custody in handcuffs. >> we had eight victims brought to the hospital. three of the patients had severe injuries and are still in the operating room right now. two of the patients are critical condition but have stabilized. >> frantic parents were told to wait at home. >> she was crying and she said get down here now. get down here to get her right away. no parent can prepare for anything like this. the words can not describe how i felt. >> now a sign of the times, one of the victims of the stabbing is a student named nate post add

selfie after the attack, you can see him pointing to his wrapped wounds seemingly doing fine posing for pictures in the hospital. the tag line on the photo chillin' at children's. we are flood he is okay. >> in san jose police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run accident that happened at east capital express way at 1:30 this morning. a man in his 30's or 40's was hit and killed before 2:00 and police are working to identify the man and to get a description of the vehicle. the expressway opened again at 8:00. >> alameda police are investigating a deadly pedestrian accident. a 64-year-old woman was hit by a minivan as she was crossing the street. it happened near safeway gas station before 5:00 this morning. the woman died at the scene. the driver pulled over and is cooperating with police. >> if san francisco tonight, neighbourhood leaders will gather for a townhall meeting on recent pedestrian accidents. seven people have been lit and

killed by vehicles in the city so far this year and the latest was sunday night when a man was fatally hit by a truck on van ness. people are calling for better lighting and more striped crosswalks. tonight the meeting begins at 6:00 at the muslim community center. >> san jose firefighters are looking for the cause of a bizarre fire that left a family displaced and for a while panicked about their pets. nick is at the scene. >> i can tell you the good news, the family is okay and they returned shortly to try to collect some of the thing they are able to salvage they allowed me to come this far to show the extent of the damage. this is what they returned to this morning after being forced from their homes when the fire starts before 2:00 a.m. >> i heard a big explosion. >> this is video of an early morning fire that shook the southeast neighbourhood and sent the family running from their home with nothing more than the clothes open their backs.

we will carry the president's remarks at the memorial service in a special report at 12:30. new this morning, authorities are calling another deadly shooting at a military base in north carolinian accident and a marine sentry unintentionally discharged his weapon last night hitting another marine in the chest. first responders tried to save the wounded marine but, unfortunately he died. >> a navy warship carrying a family whose sailboat broke down 900 mile off the mexican coast has docked in san diego. charlotte and eric hoffman's one-year-old daughter was sick with salmonella-like symptoms. rescuers from must field dropped in by parachute. sunday, the family was transferred to a navy ship. the baby's health was improved and the family was two weeks into a year-long trip around the world but no doubt happy to be on dry land.

>> toyota is recalling six million vehicles 27 models in all. the pontiac vibe is on the list. subaru has a recall on the list. some have more than one problem including a defective engine starter that can keep the motor running. that recall involves 2004-2013 models. >> up to two-thirds websites could be at risk from a security bug. experts have advise on what to do to protect your private information. the bug is fund in software designed to keep communications secure. instead, it could expose your passwords.

by last night, yahoo, facebook, amazon, all say, they have fixed the problem or were in the process. experts say you should wait to log into sites with critical information until the companies have confirmed they have made a "fix." african-american women are calling the united states army's new ban on certain hair styles racially bias. the army issued new standards that ban most twists, dread looks, and large cornrows this week all used by african-american women with natural hair styles. more than 11,000 people have signed a white house petition asking rebound to have the military review the regulations. >> the family of an 85-year-old woman is suing a nursing home in new york for hiring a male stripper to put on a show. this foe testify the 85-year-old and the dancer surfaced when the son found the racy picture in his mother's room. an attorney for the nursing home said she was not alone.
