we are on the bridge checking out the situation for you and it looks good this morning, all lanes are open and we have a camera facing this way for you, if you want to take that picture and show everyone, the roadway up here looks good and the repairs have been completed so the nightmare is over. the commute looks good. this is the repair work they did last night: a 2.5' hole was discovered on the upper check near fremont into the city. caltran says this happened because of cracks in the roads so they had to close this stretch. this was debris falling on the lower decks and that created a traffic gridlock nightmare. >> it was torture. horrible. i have opinion here two hours on the same street. i don't know why we are sitting

searches the water for missing the 14-year-old boy. >> time goes off and they didn't have wet suits on they are in trouble. >> marco was at the beach with his father and cousin and they were overcome by the current. >> they were pulled out by riptide and the father wasn't a if swimmer and tried to help and he got in trouble, too. >> the surfer realized they needed help and went after the cousin. >> i got a kid, i thought, this is simple, take him in and it is fine and i saw the dad and everything went...kid could be dead or dying. >> with the cousin safe he went back in the water and dragged the further to the beach. the fire department give the father cpr and got his pulse back. he was taken to the hospital with live threatening injuries but his son marco is missing despite a multiagency rescue effort. the waves are unpredictable

critical condition. students say the shy sophomore ran through the halls of the school twaing -- stabbing 21 students and a security guard. alex hribal has been charged as an adult and refusing to talk with police. we will go to murrysville for the latest. >> law enforcement say a man named jess martinez confessed it killing 40 over several decades including nine in california. investigators claim martinez carried this out while work as a contract killer for a mexican drug cartel date back to the 80's and targeted victims in local counties. martinez was arrested after crossing the border from mexico to arizona and currently is awaiting trial on murder damages in alabama.

police want to lend more of a crash that killed a pedestrian. the man died after being hit by a car near murphy avenue before 7:00. the victim was in the crosswalk when he was hit. the driver is cooperating. they do not think alcohol or drugs were factors. >> new details involving fatal police shooting after a pursuit that ended at a shopping center where police say the suspect repeatedly rammed the s.u.v. into police vehicles. the damage can be seen to the vehicles. the man refused orders to stop so an officer fired through his window and through the s.u.v. window hitting the driver. ones heard five to seven gunshots. officers tried to stop the vehicle near six flags because of expired registration tags.

>> lawyers for raymond "shrimp boy" chow will have a news conference to talk about the government's case after raymond "shrimp boy" chow said he would never again violate the law and claimed he still has not. the 54-year-old former chinatown gangster is charged with laundering millions brought in from drug sales, gambling and other rhymes. his lawyers believe the case involved government entrapment and racism. >> public opinion of the legislature has turned around since state senator yee was arrested along with chow in an fbi sweep. a poll suggests that 46 percent aproblems of the job state lawmaker were doing a week of president scandal, the highest since 2002 and 40 percent disaproven. after the arrest, 46 percent disaprove of the legislature and approval rating fell to 43 percent. >> today, a berkeley boy is

scheduled undergo surgery to have part of his right leg amputated with a rare disorder that causes bones to fracture under the slight of the stress. he broke his leg civilly by walking on it. his parents let him play wheelchair basketball for joy of it and he wanted to run. three blogs about his personal decision. he is scared but has the support of his parents and doctors. >> in east bay an environmental consultant is expected to inspect the dublin high school gym after it was shut down because of construction workers fining signs of mold. the school officials sent out an e-mail to morents modifying them of the situation. carpenters prepared for renovation this summer and they found damage and water leakage in the roof of the old building. if inspectors determine there is no mold they could be open by the end of week.
