highway 17 and at redwood estates, wood debris is blocking the lane up to los gatos. there is a buildup of traffic. southbound 880 at 238 this is an accident with ten vehicles. look at the traffic coming along 238 northbound direction away from 580. the castro valley drive is bumper-to-bumper traffic. >> developing overnight as we have mentioned, the crews worked until 2:30 to fix a hole that opened up on the upper deck of the bay bridge that turned interstate 80 and highway 101 into parking lots. it affected both decks. amy hollyfield has details.

>> it was a rough night. it is better on the bridge this morning. we have driven and the commute should be fine. last night, it was a different story because of a hot pole on the upper deck was too big to ignore, 2' long and 6" wide too big for a motorcycle to handle and they had to do the repairs right away although traffic was heavy. they had to shut down two lane open upper deck and three lanes headed into the east bay because the debris can fall on the lower deck. drivers spent the night in gridlock. >> torture. horrible. >> i have been here two hours. on the same street. i don't know why. >> we are from out of town and we don't know shortcuts. >> can know anything. >> this was a giants game and it
