live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> an intense search is taking place in ocean beach to try and fine the teen swept out to sea by a rip current. thanks for joining us. kristen sze is on assignment but breaking news. san francisco 49ers quaterback kaepernick is being questioned by miami police as part of a "possible" sexual assault case. the incident happened april 3rd. we have obtained miami police report about this alleged incident at an apartment in miami this month. according to the 49ers, kaepernick is spending the off season working out in miami

beach. the police report indicates the investigation began last friday. the alleged victim claims she was partying in an apartment with kaepernick and two others and she was lit headed and went to the bedroom to rest and kaepernick undressed her and left the room and she claims she does not remember what happened after that. nobody is charged at this time. we reached out to the team for comment. the general manager said "the 49ers organization is aware of the recent media report regarding kaepernick and is in the process of gathering facts. the father and a young cousin were rescued. nick is in ocean beach with that story. >> time is of the essence because the water temperature is cold. there is a rescue crew moving down the beach looking for any clues or information to help them find the 4 -- 14-year-old boy. >> two rescues were made. owe hearts are heavy. >> third is at the center of the intense search. crews have been added to the effort to find 14-year-old marco cornejo after a surfer pulled his father and cousin to shore yesterday afternoon. since then, the combined efforts of the san francisco fire department, the national park service and the coast guard have produced no clues. this morning, a decision was made to expand the search beyond ocean beach. >> searching from the beach and the great highway south to baker beach. >> >> there were crews with the

coastal rescue unit in the water scanning the waves for anything that could point them in the right direction. park services launched zodiac boat and spent hours moving up and down the beach. >> we hope the kid may have washed up on the shore and could be slighting injured. >> the dangerous surf and what officials say is a throat of -- threat after hypothermia. to sustain the 50 degree term of the water at ocean beach without aid is difficult. >> reasonable not the greatest chances of survival. to be on the warns overnight it would be tough. >> crews have been in the position of search-and-rescue before with varying results. still, they hold out hope this will have a positive outcome. >> my experience tells me there is always hope. we are hoping for the best. we continue our search until we find him. >> officials say the boy's father remains in critical condition. the cousin was not admitted to the hospital.

we have learned that the coast guard is adding extra boats and plan to add a helicopter to aid in the search this afternoon. at ocean beach for abc7 news. >> this is the surfer credited with rescuing the team's father. ocean beach boulevard tweeted this ticker of tony holding a coin presented to him by civilian firefighters after the america report efforts yesterday. it is called sffd challenge coin, the son of a firefighter who raced to the beach yesterday as he heard about his son's efforts to save people in the water. >> new this morning crews have had to fish a car out of the water south of candlestick point. 6:45 this morning the driver hit the center divide on northbound 101 and drove into the water. the man was taken to san francisco general and his condition is not known. a tow truck pulled the car on to the dry land.

an effort is underway to save some of the smallest pedestrians from being hit after several deaths. amy hollyfield joins us with that step. amy? >> they have moved the conversation to the schools, don't be surprised if director kid comes home wearing this and telling you to put this arrest. >> what color is ease -- easiest to see? >> white. >> the police chief focused on the middle school students gathering them together to talk about pedestrian safety, a topic that is constantly on the mind of the assistant principal. >> i worry every day when the students leave. >> it is in a congested area south of market. >> we have had two students hit by cars walking in the across walk and they were not severely injured but they had to go to

the hospital. >> students have seen drivers behaving badly. >> i have seen many cars not following the signal and sometimes it is not appropriate because it could cause an accident. >> it is not just a hot topic here but the entire city. several pedestrians, including six-year-old have been hit and killed by cars. the city is trying to reverse this trend. the chief said it is more than just waiting for the green light. >> you have to lock both ways before you cross but i need you to take my contact with the driver. >> he told them to shame a driver if they see one texting and driving. >> scold the driver. i want you to do that. or do this. or do this to the driver. >> the kids appreciate the extra help. >> i needed to know more about how to stay safe and help my other friends stay safe.

an argument on valentine's day last year. >> and a $250,000 reward in the case of a shooting attack from pg&e at the substation? san jose. you can see the sparks were flying for a few minutes. someone who was highly trained fired on the substation in the middle of the night. the utility company announced $250,000 reward for information that lands whoever shot at the facility in jail. they are in the process of a $100 million security improvement project. >> we have a picture of san francisco international airport causing a lot of concern. it is a picture from an al-qaeda magazine showing people, a people mover with a caption that reads "assemble your bomb." the san francisco chronicle reports that the picture caught the attention of a congressman in washington, dc at a meeting raising a red flag.

former secretary of state hillary clinton returns to the bay area for the second time of the week. tonight she takes the stage at san jose state university as part after lecture series we featuring prominent women. there will be demonstrators protesting that no one is held accountable if benghazi terrorist attack that happened under her watch as secretary of state. hillary clinton supporters urge her to run for president. since the launch, they have raised $5 million. the former secretary of state condoleeza rice has joined the board of directors of drop box and will help the company with internal expansion.

time. temperatures are cooler than yesterday. we are 66 in los gatos and 65 in livermore and 63 in concord and san jose. 61 in santa rosa and 71 in fairfield. everyone else in the 50's. san rafael had thick fog this morning. emeryville to san francisco is hazy sunshine with mild at the coast and warm inland and clouds everywhere with thick fog in the north valley and throughout the extended forecast, general cooling trend and no rain. time to turn the sprinklers back on. through the east bay hills it is green. hope we get some more rain before the end of april. temperatures today are a degree cooler in san francisco and six to ten degrees cooler-than-average in all other neighborhoods and watch out for the pollen, tree pollen is high, u.v. index, also, is high. in the south bay, mid-to-upper 70's until morgan hill at 80 and

low-to-mid 70's on the peninsula and the sea breeze through the g.p.a. keeps millbrae at 69 and mid-60's in downtown and south san francisco and sausalito and a 20-degree spread from bodega bay to santa rosa. berkeley is upper 60's and fremont and castro valley at 73, the warm spot, and upper 70's to nearly 80 in the east bay valley. we are rounding out the three game set with the diamondbacks and we hope the giants do not mirror the weather, they were cool last night dropping at end of the game to the 50's so you will need to keep warm and in the mid-40's to 50, but see the cloud cough around. the low pressure, that is coming near us and we can see the southern surge up the coast which is why we will have the cooling trend as the sea breeze increases tomorrow and saturday and it will relax a little bit
