live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> the search for answers underway into the devastating crash that claimed the lives of five high school students and five adults turning a school bus and a fedex truck into a ball of hours two hours west of chico. >> northbound interstate 5 through orland is still closed as crews remove the wreckage. ten people were killed and half were high school students from the los angeles area. they were headed for college campus tours yesterday when a

fedex truck crashed into their bus. the ntsb arrived in the last two hours and the c.h.p. just held a news conference moments ago. >> parts of the investigation will include looking into the human factors that could have caused the collision. we do not know if the fedex driver fell asleep or experienced mechanical failure with the vehicle or if there was a separate collision on the southbound side that caused him to lose control. the crash happened 20 miles west of chico and 100 miles north of sacramento. >> we will go back to the scene with abc7 news reporter who is going to be with us in a few minutes. san francisco police announce an arrest in a deadly hit-and-run accident where officers say the driver double backed and looked at the victim on the ground before speeding

away. a surveillance video caught a picture the white dodge after the driver hit an asian woman in her 80's three weeks ago. the woman was in the crosswalk and had a green light. witnesses say the driver made a u-turn, slowly drove by the woman lying on the ground and sped off the victim died at the scene. under arrest is a 31-year-old woman taken into custody yesterday facing felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter. >> we are getting our first response report on 49ers' quarterback colin kaepernick one of three san francisco 49ers dealing with issues taking their attention off the field. nick joins us with kaepernick's response. >> one of 49ers had the court case moved and today we hear from 49ers' quarterback colin kaepernick in response to an incident in miami that the

we have another protest against those private google buses that carry employees from san francisco to the silicon valley. protesters claim that high-tech workers with their big salaries driving up the rent. eric thomas is joining us and targeting specific people. >> using the buses as a tool accuses google employees of driving up rents and evicting people in san francisco. to show the displeasure they go after one of google's major perks. >> protesters have gone after google buses before but today was a case of hide-'n-seek with the bus not stopping at 19th as urge but at 18th but they found it. they did not demonstrate against google but critical of a google executive for evicting tenants from a building he owns. they say two of the tenants are teachers. >> we hope they realize there are a lot people who are not going to let them soviet -- get

>> a student trip turned tragic in an insaint. excited teens from several different high schools on their way to a college tour and a fedex truck suddenly crossed the center divider and slammed head on into their bus. >> upon arrival it was fully engulfed in flames. >> video captured the horrifying ball of fire that erupted when the two vehicle collides with massive flames devouring the vehicles as they struggled to put out the place. high school student jonathan was sleep on the bus when he woke to screams. what followed was mass panic. >> it was hard to breathe. i panicked. smock -- smoke was everywhere. you could not see where you were going. >> students scrambled to escape through windows and watched helplessly as many of their friends perished inside. ten are dead. five are students. dozens more were injured. >> this was one person when we

flight arrival delays at an hour because of the low ceiling we have. as we take a look at what is happening our highs today across the state if you headed out of town, expect to see thundershowers through lake tahoe, and 87 in fresno and 95 in palm springs under mostly sunny skies but the scattered clouds are with us the better part of the weekend and the highs around the bay area are 68 at san mateo and 71 in san jose and will top out above the mid-70's for inland areas including antioch and concord and 80 degrees in clear lake so. er there along the coast and going to be just about 60 degrees. lows are going to be chilly and we down to the 40's, 46 at half moon bay and under dense fog, again, that will bring the drizzle that will last through the morning hours and burn off with a low at 48.
