screeching noise. i'll never forget it. within a split second, boom! smoke was filling the truck and everything, the fed ex truck was on fire. >> he has been reunited with his family. >> 18-year-old miles hill of mount washington remains hospitalized with serious burns and a broken collarbone. >> absolutely terror because i couldn't get here and he's my son and i knew he needed me. >> his father said miles has burns on his ears and legs from kicking out a window to escape. he put his hands over his glass so the graft explosions went back this way and missed the front of his face and he was right behind the driver. he's lucky he got out. >> it's still unclear what caused the driver of the truck to cross the median. the ntsb is handling the investigation. reportingreporting in chico, ab.

true love. >> the family tells us michael and madison had been planning to get married next year. amy powell. abc7 news. >> crash survivors rookies thursday in thank you poster at the red cross poster. it thanked the workers who helped with the accident. one said i can't imagine if we didn't have your help. >> three people are recovering from injuries after a fight led to a stabbing in san jose. it happened 9:15 last night. two men, who were believe to be victims, suffering from stab wounds and a third man, believed to be a suspect, was found a short time later. all three were taken to the hospital. the fight does not appear to be gang related. new this morning, two cars were destroyed following an early morning fire in san jose. the car was in an attached garage. crews were able to get the fire

under control just before 1:00 but not before the fire damaged a second garage. no homes were destroyed and there were no injuries. no word on what started the fire, but firefighters believe it maybe accidental. a robber in antioch has been shot and killed during an attempted jewelry hike. police are still searching for a second robber t happened at a jewelry store on delta fair boulevard. at least two men wearing black ski masks entered the store. one opened fire. the storeowner was in back but came out front returning fire and killing one robber. aer and was injured and that person has been treated and released. san francisco's tech boom has been taking blame. now they are going after a google attorney for using it to evict tenants. we have the details. >> more than 100 demonstrators

of writing prescriptions for cash. yesterday federal prosecutors unsealed an eight-count indictment against daniels. he met with customers at starbucks, burger king and chicken and waffles to sell prescriptions. he learned $143,000 from october, 2010 to april, 2011, although she did not file taxes. daniels is expected in court on monday. >> this morning authorities in oakland are asking for your help to identify an arson suspect. he was seen on surveillance video yesterday near a tire that started 8 days ago. it did $150,000 in damage to offices belonging to children's hospital oakland. they describe the man being between 30 and 40 years old, balding, dark hair and possibly a gotee. birds in lake county have tested positive for west

some artwork that disappeared some 16 years ago has been found in the bay area. ite the work of a woman considered by poland to be a national treasure and you are the artwork is worth millions. abc7 news reporter vic lee talked with the fbi to find out what happened. >> this is the cobbler. one of cally's work of art. after the world she traveled the world painting, settling down in the bay area. her artwork is considered a national treasure in poland. when she died in san francisco in 1998, she left 86 paintings to the polish museum in switzerland. the art never reached the intended destination. >> they vanished. for 16 years the whereabouts of the paintings were a mystery. four years the museum intensified their search for the

artwork n mid-january the polish ministry of culture turned to the fbi in san francisco. >> the polish government had asked us to try and reach out for one of the family members here in the bay area and see if he was aware of the location of the paintings. >> the fbi went to cally's nephew's home in san francisco were he few where the paintings were. they were being main taped in a storage facility and after a conversation with us it was agreed that we would take them and get them back to switzerland where they belonged. the fbi recovered 75 of the 86 paintings. the nephew said he was protecting the paintings and didn't know the museum was looking for them. the polish government said there are still some 80,000 pieces of art that are missing from its country. most of believe believed to have been stolen by the nazis and russians. >> they are finding more and more painting in germany and holland is other places but these paintings are coming back.

warmup. temperatures will actually be slightly above average for sunday. let's look at the pacific satellite image. it shows the area of low pressure heading toward southern california, bringing us cool temperatures again today and the cloudy conditions. as it continues to move east tomorrow, more sunshine but here is how it plays out. by 9:00 this morning we will still see a lot of cloud cover all around the bay. by about lunchtime, afternoon is when we start to see more sunshine and tonight the clouds return again overnight into tomorrow. also, high for today will be similar to yesterday's. in some locations a little cooler by a few degrees. look tore 69 in san jose. quite comfortable there. 68 santa clara, 70 cupertino. along the peninsula upper 6 to to -- 60s for you. with the cloudy coast, conditions around the upper 50s in pacifica, as well as daly city. and 61 downtown san francisco. look tore upper 60s in calistoga.
