live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> a former bay area tv station burns to the ground in a rage inferno. the inspectors will search to make sure no one was trapped inside. >> good morning, i am here for kristen sze, i am eric thomas. >> investigators are wait for the equipment to begin the search. the fire burns for hours after starting yesterday afternoon. matt? >> montgomery street is block off as firefighters watch the

hotspots. the hope is that no one was inside when the building collapsed. >> this used to be home to a television station. when emptied it became home to a few dozen homeless people. flames from the five alarm fire destroyed the structure forcing those inside into the streets. >> did everyone get out safely? >> yes but for two dogs. awhose dogs were they? >> izzy and zappo. >> up to 40 would stay their at least but only 14 were there in the afternoon. someone said a person was cooking inside and started the fire. arson investigators will determine if the fire was accidental or intentional. >> we believe there were no utilities at the time of the fire but it was occupied. >> the city of hose bought the property with hopes of building a downtown ball park for the a's but it was a nuisance for

neighbors and police. at&t workers told me they called police several times and officers say they have spent a lot of time hire but now there is no building. they must wait for the equipment to move the steel beams before they can go through the debris to see if there are victims. >> there is no guarantee everyone made it out? >> in guarantee. we like to search every building before we confirm no one is in there. we could not complete the search because of the intensity of the fire. >> the mess is now the city's responsibility when the firefighters are done with the investigation and then it will be in the hands of the public works department to clean it up. >> fremont firefighters are investigating an early morning house fire. the department tweeted this photo after it broke out this morning on woodbridge place, everyone got out safely. the family's two dogs were killed in the fire. investigators say it started in

the garage at 4:30 this morning and the heat from the fire blew out a window at the home next car and the cause is under investigation. >> in berkeley federal investigators are digging through the rubble of a fire there which broke out at a warehouse along interstate 80 saturday night with four businesses affected. >> investigators are getting close to figuring out the cause. >> they are making progress. they have coducted several interviews but they have a lot of debris to get through. you will see mind me they brought in heavy equipment to help them push through the mess. >> investigators from a.t.h. are helping berkeley fire investigators try to figure what started the massive fire that did $1 million in damage. they have not uncovered what happened. they are getting close to ruling out arson. >> the fire doesn't appear to

have been intentional. we are not ruling anything out. it is still so early in the investigation. >> the five alarm fire burned for five hours on saturday night destroying the wooden duck furniture shop and damaging other businesses. the warehouses are located along interstate 80 on east shore highway as employees of the other businesses arrived they could not help but stare. >> when a cabinet store sees another wood shop burn down it gives you pause. the dangers of wood...it is devastating. >> you are looking at the back side of the building, the side that faces 2nd street. it looks like a complete loss but the front of the building faces east does not look too bad and the wooden duck furniture shop just opened up this morning

for business. new this morning, c.h.p. is investigating a fatal pedestrian accident in redwood city on middlefield road after 2:00 a.m. officers say the victim is 62-year-old man from redwood city. witnesses say he was trying to run across the street when he was hit. he might have been drinking. the driver, 32 years old from new york, stopped and is cooperating. >> 49ers linebacker aldon smith is out on bail after making a bomb threat at l.a.x. >> this video was posted of him arguing with police arrest being arrested at the southwest airlines terminal after being selected for a second security screening he said he has a bomb to a t.s.a. agent. he was arrested on a false bomb report charge which is punishable by a year in jail.

witnesses say he appeared to be drunk. this is as he deals with d.u.i. and weapons charges stemming from earlier incidents in the bay area. >> a man was arrested on a southwest flight headed to sacramento trying to on the emergency exit and was diverted to omaha, nebraska. witnesses say he was acting strangely. he came out of the bathroom soaking wet. he went to the back of the cabin and tried to push open a door. passengers tackled the plan and restrained him until he was escorted off the plane if handcuffs. >> new details of one of the victims of the tour bus crash that killed ten people west of chico. the bus driver spent two decades driving for a bay area transport company. the investigation now shifts to southern california. katie marzullo explains why. >> most of the survivors are in

los angeles so investigators need to be there to talk with them and meet with the owner of the tour bus. we are learning more of the victims including the bus driver from san mateo and a high school senior who may have saved lives but could not save his own. >> ten lives lost in the fiery wreck, one of the five teens who died now being called a hero, 18-year-old jimenez was a senior, and he buffed open a window at the front of the bus and lifted kids out. the c.e.o. of the public school says he will be remembered as someone who forever affected the lives of young people he barely knew. he was a hero. fellow senior gomez was killed and they would have been the first in the families to go to college. the ntsb says the fedex truck left no skid marks on the road or the median as it geared into oncoming traffic but the tour bus left 145' of skid marks

indicating the bus driver dried to avoid the truck. the bus driver tala salanoa died in the crash. she drove buses for sam tran for 19 years. a san francisco woman said they played softball together when they were young. >> wow, what a tragedy, she didn't have to die like that. >> the fedex driver died. his neighbor remembered him in tears. >> the ntsb is getting blood samples from both drivers as they try to figure out what happened. >> they were tested for alcohol, over-the-counter medication, prescription medication illegal drugs. this is the possibility they may be able to tell us what either of the drivers inhaled smoke. >> it could take months to issue

california will be mostly sunny. in the southern portion of california, 82 in los angeles and 88 is the high in palm springs. our pacific satellite shows that is happening with the ridge of high pressure coming in over the pack, and it will visit san francisco and the bay area for today, so, today is going to be the warmest day of the week and the low pressure is dipping into the pacific northwest and that will fall closer to us later this week and might thought it would bring precipitation but we will stay dry the rest of the week with a little bit of a rain chance to the northeast of us with highs today starting with the south bay at 77 degrees in san jose and 76 in sunnyville and 71 in san mateo and 65 in pacifica and it will remain cloudy through san francisco and 68 is the high today and 75 in santa rosa and east bay is 74 degrees in oakland and warmer in the inland areas and 81 in antioch and 80 degrees in
