abc7 news at 11 starts with breaking news. >> breaking news is over the scene of a deadly fire in san francisco on brookdale avenue in the sunnydale avenue that claimed the life of one person. >> right now we have a lieutenant from the san francisco fire department joining us by phone and first up, thanks for being here. second, we initially heard reports that two people were dead and that has changed.

>> yes, my understanding was that there were two deceased but that was clarified for me, one of the individuals is in critical condition but was transported to the hospital. >> can you tell us what happened when you got the call before 10:00 this morning? >> thank you is correct. there was a last commotion in the background and reporting of fire. when we arrived on the scene there was heavy smoke and fire in this public housing building and crews went in and they were told there were possibly people trapped so they went in to execute a search and did locate two individuals. >> we also heard reported that some of the victims jumped out of ones to escape. >> that is what i understand. i believe there were five adults and one child living in this particular unit. >> are there any other people

cruz home and it woke up the neighborhood. matt has the latest. matt? >> the f.b.i. left 90 minutes ago and took with them a lost evidence after making a lot of noise during the raid this morning. >> this neighborhood in santa cruz county had unusual visitors. >> i came outside and there was a guy in full gear sternly and calmly telling me to go back inside. >> the f.b.i. raided this home at 6:00 this only. people were startled when several explosions went off. one was a big explosion and i thought, well it is not gunshots. the police blocked off the street down there and they told another neighbor the f.b.i. was serving a warrant. >> the sheriff helped block off the street and said in shots were fired but nonlethal explosive devices were used to

help in the raid. the f.b.i. sorted through ever including gun boxes for several hours after the operation. while on the scene the f.b.i. would not say what the raid was about or how many were arrested but they made a statement. >> the fbi executed a federal search warrant as part of the law enforcement investigation. >> i got an update from someone that said a santa cruz resident was arrested. they say it is a weapons charge. he will appear in federal court this afternoon at 1:00 o'clock in san jose. >> in the east by, a heavy police presence right new in oakland after a young man in his 20's was shock near a neighborhood market in front of the market on 11th and willow less than two hours ago and was shot several times in the back and pronounced dead at the hospital. police are interviewing ones trying to get more information on the shooter or a possible

motive. >> police detectives in the east bay are also trying to figure out exactly what happened to a teenage girl in the hours before she was found screaming hysterically on a berkeley street. more on what the girl says happened. >> oakland police say that the girl who was found here is in her late teens and they have not said exactly how old she is but her screams certainly woke up this neighborhood. >> it looked like she was completely naked. >> thomas came outside before 6:30 this morning when he heard a woman screaming. >> she yelled someone sprayed her in the eyes with something and shortly after that she yelled someone raped her and she collapsed to the ground and was, like, in shock and yelling and crying. >> screaming woke up several people in berkeley who ran outside to help.

>> she was in distress. slow couldn't see. the gentleman who was helping her had already called the police so they were basically saying, help was on the way. trying to rereassure her. >> the girl's story continues to change and they are look into whether she was robbed and kidnapped from oakland and then, left, in berkeley. at this point they don't know if there is a legitimate threat to the community. >> i hope we are able to solve her case and help her out. if what happened to her, if what she said happened, did happen, i am sure she is going through a lot of trauma right now and it was bad experience so i help she can get through that. >> police say she was taken to the hospital and they have not said how she is doing.
