temperatures are climbing through the 70's throughout the afternoon but, city, cooler than yesterday. >> i meant to say the giants are home and a's oren the road so the ferry is spenting a busy afternoon for the start at 12:35. before mission we have an accident blocking lanes here and we have on the bayshore freeway, north 101, a couple of cars mixing it up, and hayward side of san mateo bridge, before 92, we have an accident reported if lanes and, again, this is a fatal accident with a major authority foe through south san jose, blossom hill to camden is the alternate. >> talking about the sought bay a fatal accident in san jose, police are on the scene of the intersection of coal man road and the express way that is closed because two cars crashed

when a vehicle want through the red light and both drivers were taken to the hospital. one did not make it. police say one of the drivers may have been drinking. matt is there on the soon talking with police and will have the latest information in a report. damaged sailboat is docked in redwood city after a fatal accident during a yacht club race last night. amy hollyfield has more on what happened. the redwood city police department will handle the investigation and says they will release more information later today. the coast guard says that the boat was tangled in a channel marker buoy after hitting it. the boat mast broke and crashed on the crew killing one and hurting another. that person has a head injury.

there were five people on board and the other three raised to shore for help and a witness said that at first people thought people on board were hurt and they did not realize someone died until they arrived. the man did not want to show his face on camera. >> they got pushy on the limits and the police started showing up and investigating because at first it looked like someone was hurt on board and it starting getting more serious. >> the yacht club holds the race each week, just a casual race. this is the first fatality in the 75-year history. developing overnight, antioch homicide detectives have taken the lead investigating the deadly shooting a boy at 8 ok last night at country hills in

hillcrest driver. police say they found a boy who was shot multiple times and investigators have not released his age or name. the paramedics tried to resuscitate the victim but he died. >> another victim has been found following the ferry accident off south korea as poor weather conditions hamper the search if survivors. 300 people, many thought to be high school students are still missing. families are clinging to hope and many claiming the captain who surviveed. we have been following the developments from washington with the latest. the first responders saved a lot of people and the bad weather moved in and it is race against time. the south korean president saw firsthand the desperate rescue mission at sea. ships and helicopters and divers battling strong currents and rain to reach a giant ferry boat that flipped and sank. 475 people were on board and 300

>> a poll shows voters may want to make changes that limit rot taxes. 49 percent generally support changes parts of the law and a clear majority of 69 percent support indirectly increasing taxes on businesses by paying it harder for commercial prosecutes to avoid reassessment. it was passed by voters in 1978 reducing rot taxes and making it harder for lawmakers to raise taxes in general. the governor is calling on the legislators to come back to work on how a rainy day fund is collected. it would be filled when revenue exceed as certain percentage of spending and instead wands to use capital gains revenue and take surplus funds to pay down debt. >> a big day for the 49ers.

>> if you video after two fire trucks collide and slam into a restaurant near los angeles. this is moments after the accident. a man is trapped by a truck and 15 people were injured five firefighters. one is in critical condition. the fire trucks were both responding to a house fire when they collided. in oregon, officials say they flushing 38 million flowns of drinking water down a drain after a teen was caught urinating in an oppress very and seen at park in portland and seen urinating here. the water is tested for possible contamination but the city is not take changes and will flush the water anyway. the 19-year-old was sited for public urination and additional charges could be filed. >> $5 million and 15 months of work is what the former chief

and clear in the city with partly to mostly sunny skies and along the coast, the folk should increase throughout the day and the winds at 52 in concord and live more and winds are flat and minor cooling today and tomorrow and we will have a nice easter weekend if you are celebrating that and we will look if gusty winds and extremely unseasonable system coming in on monday and tuesday providing a chance of showers and cooler air. it will be below average but we don't know what average is like because they have been well above average the past couple of days with a system to the south. it is this frontal system that will allow for the blow to kick up today and today and winds from 20 to 30 miles per hour along the coast and across the bay and inland it will be pleasant and san jose in the next couple of days with a high at 70 and we are above average

search for more survivors of the ferry that sank and is becoming more anxious with the 287 passengers still unaccounted for a day after the ferry capsized. ten people are now confirmed kid and most of the 475 people on board were high school students. families of the missing are holding out hope their loved ones can have survived by finding an air pocket. south korea's president visited the scene of the wreck and the coast guard officials say ships with cranes will arrive the next day to salvage the ferry. >> the situation is unnerving for the korean community. >> i heard the news i thought of their parents and their kids. >> if korea they are doing the best they can, so it is all up to god and how people are going to reach out to the community and give them moral support.

in santa barbara were lifted yesterday morning after evacuations were ordered for on homes and businesses but this was expanded to a thousand. a team was called out and officials gave the "all clear" at midnight. >> crews will do a more detailed search today combing through the rubble of a former tv station building that was destroyed in a fire in san jose. an ex can vase team is brought if after two cadaver dogs alerted searchers to possible human remains in the ashes. it took 100 firefighters to put out the fire. the suspect is charged with arson and first-degree burglary.

covering los altos, antioch petaluma and all the bay area, this is abc7 news. developing news, a fatal accident during the first cop test an informal race season at a local yacht club. in redwood city, the investigation is underway. >> can you see where the police have stationed an officer here at the dock to make sure that no one gets on to the boat so investigators' evidence is preserved. the investigators were here last night but the officer says he will be out here later this morning gathering evidence on board "the bella," involved if a friendly race last night they hold each week.
