live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> it appears a burglary gone one man is dead. another man is in the hospital in the east bay. it started as a burglary and it ended with gunfire. matt keller just finished talking with police and joins us with the latest details. matt? >> police say in the past 15 minutes three people have been arrested. they are now questioning questioned for the burglary that turned into a gunfight.

a stranger driving by saw the fire and woke up the people inside. >> i want to the house and knocked on the windows and doors and people came out and heard me. >> they got out safely. there is in word on how the fire started. a powerful earthquake struck central and southern mexico with no serious reports of injuries and the center of the 7.2 earthquake is north the pacific resort town of acapulco. video shows broken windows but, so far nothing more serious. the tremor lasted 30 seconds. people in mexico city, 170 miles away, felt it. >> san francisco marked the 108th anniversary of the 1906 earthquake and fire that destroyed 80 percent of the city. one group was unable to join the event for the first time.

amy hollyfield has the story from san francisco. >> there were no survivors that were able to attend today's ceremony but they did focus on the positive and what is still here such as this fire hydrant. hard to ignore this, it is very decorated and it is not being taken for granted and this is one part of the elaborate celebration they have this morning. >> they sounded the siren to remember when the great earthquake struck san francisco 108 years ago and although it was 5:112 in the morning 100 people showed up, some in costume, to may respect to the memory. the most significant day in our history is the defining event in our city's history and we are here to on the survivors of that day. >> they hold the celebration at the fountain because it is one of the only structures still standing on market street after the earthquake and served as a meeting point for survivors.

>> in colorado five people including three children are in the hospital after a serious school bus accident. a car plowed into the rear end of the bus and the driver was airlifted to the hospital with life threatening injuries and the bus driver and three schoolchildren have moderate to minor injuries and the car was trapped under the bus. the cause is under investigation and a student who lives near the bus stop says the crash sounded like a huge shotgun went off. a special task force releasing the final recommendations on how to fight racial discrimination meeting to conclude its work last night. the university called for an independent panel after a student was harassed by white roommates at the dom and the head of the 18-member task force says they will watch the university president and his administration as they for adopting the panel's recommendations and some ideas include increasing the number of resident advisors, and acquiring diversity training for all

a security breach at michael's craft stores is worst than thought. they say up to 2.5 million customers could be at risk from a security breach involving debit and credit cards. in january the company announced michael's and aaron brothers, owned by michael's, was hacked. michaels has been receiving reports of fraud and hackers used malware that the security firmed had never seen before. >> there have been hidden credit card skimmers at g.s.a. pumps after fraudulent a.t.m. withdrawals in southern california. police confiscated skimmers and have not released the locations. the devises capture information from credit and tell bit cars and residents should check the bank statements and they advise gas station customers to pay inside with cash, if possible, and some of the cases are on the rise in santa cruz and santa clara counties.

and 4 in gilroy and san francisco is a cooler spot at 58, and 61 in oakland and here is emeryville, with the high clouds and the low clouds at the coast, the high clouds around the bay and in between plenty of sunshine and the breezy winds, that will make it feel cooler in some spots and, also, the outer edges of we are cooling at livermore and concord and well into the 70's, a couple of degrees of cooling and up in santa rosa, and, otherwise, we are right around seasonal averages so three degrees cooler than yesterday at this hour in livermore, concord and santa rosa and the rest of the bay is similar to where it was, with the fog keeping the temperatures nice in the city and seasonal at 63 and seasonal and warmer for easter, and not out-of-control warmer for easter but just the low 80's, and the sea breeze is backing off a bit along the coast and in the city, and we will see cooler temperatures on monday, and, tuesday, a chance
