prosecutors say the captain was not in the steering room when the ship started to sink he faces five charges. they say it failed to slow down whit should have. the captain was one of at least 174 people rescued. confirmed death toll is 29. 270 people are missing. divers are pumping air to try to sustain anyone who might still be alive. a high school vice principal who survived apparently committed suicide he left behind the note saying he couldn't bear the guilt from living while many students were lost. please hold me responsible for all of this, the note wrote, i push forward the school excursion. cremate my body and spread ashes over the ship sinking site.
