mystery today in the delta. who men go overboard, only one is found. right now a rescue mission in contra costa county is entered its philadelphia hour after a boating accident sends two fishermen overboard. tiffani wilson is live at. reporter: if you see this bridge right here behind me, the extent happened on the -- the accident happened on the other side of the bridge. the boat was headed towards us and both men were in town for a bass fishing tournament.

they were both wearing life vests but when they went over, only one emerged. two men in this fishing boat slammed into something understand water after the bridge. impact knocked their engine off and sent both men overboard. their boat then hit the bridge. >> one of them flew pretty far. i talked to him afterwards. he was pretty shaken up, and he doesn't really remember anything from whenever the impact of the boat. reporter: his fishing buddy, who was wearing a life jacket, has not been seen since. >> the guy i talked to was lucky. he was missing a shoe and a sock. that was it. reporter: divers started searching the waters and the coast guard in helicopters above. they halted poet traffic in the area hoping to find the missing fisherman. even in a paddle boat. >> pretty scary, as much as i wanted to find him, i don't know what i would have done if we

did. >> reporter: train traffic temporarily stopped but resumed in the afternoon. >> boaters, we go by each other, we always wave. it's a friendly, fun community, and like they might have gone by a couple hours earlier and i waved and said, hi, and now we're searching for them. at it disturbing. reporter: in brentwood, abc7 news. a san francisco police officer is recovering from neck and back injuries after being hit not opposite but twice by a car driven by robbery suspects. the second crash ended a pursuit that began here in the sunset district this morning. a woman was robbed of her purse by armed suspects, one of whom shot into a house. neighbors say the violence here is very unusual. >> right next door. not good. at it like a safe haven to come back here, and seeing that furniture right next door is not -- it's unsettling.

the officer responsible though robbery had his cruiser clipped by the suspect's car, and then took off after them. they crashed at 20th avenue and lip lip way -- and lincoln way. the police officers and suspects were taken to the hospital, all expected to recover. the chp is searching for a silver sed yap after a drive hit an officer and kept driving. it happen just before 11:00 last indigent in san jose as two chp officers were stopped on the right shoulder of 101. the car sideswiped the patrol car and hit an officer help suffered a leg injury and is recovering. officers say the car has damage to the front side. one of three shootings today in oakland, man is expected to recover after being shot while driving. police say someone in another car began shooting at the man around 9:30 this morning at the intersection of 98th avenue and plymouth street. three other people were injured. all victims expected to survive.

no arrests in any case. a bay area man is among those who survived an avalanche that killed at least 13 people on mt. everest. 49-year-old jon reiter of kenwood in sonoma county posted this picture. he is on the left. he was claiming above 20,000 feet when the avalanche happened. he says his sherpa guide pushed him out of harm's way and fells lunge to -- feels lucky to survive. 13 sherpa guided were killed, three others remain missing. >> the british man who was washed overboard for 90 minutes in the freezing water was back on his ship today as the clipper round the world yacht race resume out of san francisco, andrew taylor was treated for an injured foot last week when his boat arrived in san francisco. last month you may remember, he was knocked off his yacht by a

have survived. the search for life pushed ahead today. alex stone as an update on the search. reporter: the fourth day of rescue efforts saved no lives. only more bodies from a watery grave. from the surface of the sea, no visible trace of the ferry or the close to 300 passengers, mostly young students, who went down with it. the bleak search falls to these men, an underwater army of 650 divers who are tasked with getting through the wreck. divers broke a window of the ferry to recover three bodies. the goal is to reach the ship's cafeteria where many passengers are thought to have been trapped. this u.s. marine corps osprey is among the air crafts saiding the searchers. officials say the third mate was at the ship's helm when the accident happened, trying to steer the doomed vessel in

treacherous waters. the captain was in this bedroom when the ferry sunk. he saved himself even as some passengers clung for their lives to the ship's hull. it was already too late for one 4-year-old high school teacher. he heart sick family has the consolation they can bury their loved ones. with hopes worn so thin, prayers are all that is lift for those relatives of the missing who look out at sea as if they might glimpse their loved ones. for now, the sea returns a blank stare. abc news, los angeles. the mayor of october oklahoma city says they'll never forget during a villagele -- a vigil on the 19th anniversary of the federal building bombing. 168 people died and another 700 were injured during the act of domestic terrorism on april 19, 1995. today family members, rescue workers and the community of oklahoma city came together to
