>> good morning, everything, i'm tear lynn tyler. thanks for joining us on this sunday, april 20th. let's start with a quick first look if he weather with meteorologist lisa argen. >> hi, carolyn, good morning to you. we've had dense fog along the central coast and half moon bay. a little bit over in livermore burks it continues to evaporate and we will have a mostly sunny and warmer day today. here's a look at our east bay hills camera where temperatures are still pretty cool, although we are seeing the climb in our east bay valleys where the delta is already at 59. 57 concord. and santa rosa at 56. the forecast throughout the rest of the day in the south bay and all around the bay calms for

warmer temperatures with low to mid-60s. patchy fog with more sunshine and less of a sabra's breeze at the coast. base temperatures will climb to the 70s inland and couple 850s. le will talk about the big cool down coming up. carolyn. >> developing news. somebody stabbed four men at a bar and restaurant early in morning. police were called at 1:30 to sp 2 communal bar and avenue near san pedro square. few of the men were taken to the hospital. all four are expected to be okay. the front entrance to the bar was taped off early this morning. officers say there was an argument before the stabbing, but they haven't said what that was about. so far investigators say they have few details about a suspect, and they have to get more information from the victims. this morning the contra costa county sheriff's office will continue its investigation

into a deadly boating accident on the delta near brentwood. the accident happened at a place on the water even seasoned fishermen say is dangerous. abc7 news reporter lisa amin gulezian ga has the details. >> the body of a fisherman is pulled out of the delta five hours after it feels thrown into the delta. he and his friend were taking part in a bass fishing tournament when things went terribly wrong when they came near the bridge. >> this intersection is one of the most dangerous in the delta, i would say. >> even the most seasoned boaters know to be careful on these waters. five channels meet under this bridge and the currents move fast. with the current you would be gone. you would go a block in five minutes. >> at around 11:00 there was an outgoing strong tide and something hit the bottom's bottom, ripping the motor off and sending the two men into the

water. both were wearing life vests. steven helped him swim to the store, but the victim's may have malfunctioned. >> did it look like it had been deployed? >> no, it had not. >> heartbreaking news for this woman. she spent hours scanning the water from her paddleboat. they found him where we were look too which makes it hard for me because i was right there. >> and at the restaurant at the marina where the tournament started, there was a moment of silence in honor of the dead boater. >> we are always worried about anything like that because it could be one of my kids, it could be one of my friends, it could be anybody, you know. it doesn't matter. it doesn't matter who it is, we just care. >> the contra costa county sheriff's department is investigating. lisa amin gulezian ga, abc7 news. a san francisco police officer is out of the hospital this morning after his cruiser was hit bay car driven by a suspected armed robber. this is how he was hurt. the suspect's vehicle and the

patrol car collided in the sunset district yesterday morning. >> it really did sound like a car chase. a big crowd and then the car kept on going. honestly, i went back to sleep. i thought it was the garbage pickup. >> the crash ended a pursuit that began with the report of a woman being robbed of her purse in the richmond district. two people, the driver and a passenger, have been arrested on charges ranging from driving a stolen vehicle to a felon possessioning ammunition. the highway patrol wants to hear from anyone who saw a driver plow into an officer in san jose late friday night. it happened on 101 just before 11. a silver sedan veered toward the shoulder and hit the patrol car before striking the officer and driving away. two officers were giving another driver a ticket at the time. in injured officer is recovering. a 14-year-old boy is dead

and three teenagers are in the hospital this morning after investigators say a distracted driver crashed into a group of people. it happened in san joaquin county early yesterday morning. investigators say the 19-year-old driver took her eyes off the road to locate a cell phone. the chp said she ran into four kids, ages 14 to 16, who were walking on the side of the road. >> anything that distracts a person's attention away from the primary task of driving endangers everybody involved, the bystanders, other motorists, passengers, it endangers everyone. >> the driver has been charged with vehicular manslaughter. this morning passengers on a flight from new york to sfo yesterday have quite a story to tell. pilots noticed big cracks in the windshield and quickly diverted to indianapolis. passengers told abc7 news reporter sergio what it was like.

>> this was a picture of the shattered cockpit window. it was taken bay passenger, adam, as he was getting off the plane in indianapolis. he was surprised by the flight interruption. >> we don't like unscheduled landings. why are we landing in indianapolis when we have four more hours to go. >> they said the pilots handled it smoothly. >> the pilots came on very calm, measured and said there was a problem with the windshield with the windshield in the pilot's cabin and we are going to do a landing in indianapolis. >> there was a hard turn to the left and the plane started descending and i was kind of scared but they announced it was a precautionary landing because the front windshield shattered. >> he shot a photo at the indianapolis airport. that's where they were delayed for two hours. a replacement jet from chicago came. the damage in her picture isn't as clear as the one shot by passenger adam. so i showed her that picture. >> oh, wow. that's way more drastic than i

>> welcome back on this easter sunday. this is a live look from the roof cam showing you the glistening bay. temperatures rather mild today. 70s and above. but change is on the way, so says lisa argen. she will be along with her full accuweather forecast. and the southern indian ocean the search continues for the missing malaysian airlines flight 307. an unmanned sub marvin capable of diving miles underwater is making a sonar map of the ocean floor. it's around the location of the last snap searchers think may be from the plane's black box. when the map is done there's no guarantee it will show evidence of the plane. if it doesn't, malaysian government leaders say they will have to expand the search zone again or bring in new tools. crews have not heard any pings in the area for ten days. they fear the black box's batteries have died.

>> developing news. korean officials are collecting dna to match family members with the victims. >> the south korean coast guard said at least 58 people have died from the sunk inferry and 244 missing. meet of the them high school students on a holiday trip. there are only 174known survives. alex stone has the latest. >> a fourth day of rescue efforts saved no lives. only more bodies from a watery grave. from the surface of the sea, no visible trace of the ferry or the close to 300 passengers, mostly young students, who went down with it. the bleak search falls to these men, an underwater army of some 650 divers who have the task of getting into the wreck through the cold, murky water. drivers broke a window to the submerged ferry to recover three bodies. the goal is to reach the cafeteria where many passengers are thought to have been trapped.

this u.s. marine corps aircraft is among those aiding the searchers. south korean prosecutetories claim the 23-year-old third mate was at the ship's helm for the very first time when the accident happened trying to steer the doomed vessel in treacherous waters. the lead captain said he was in his bedroom when it struck. the captain is under arrest facing negligence charges. he saved himself even after some passengers clung to the hull. it was already too late for one 24-year-old high school teacher. her family at least has the consolation they can bury their loved one. with hopes worn so thin, prayers is all that's left for relatives of the missing. they gather on the shore and gaze longingly out to sea for maybe a glimpse of a loved one and for now the sea returns a blank stare. abc news, los angeles. >> search teams have recovered a 13th body on a pass to mount everest where an avalanche swept

over a group of sherpa guides. that was on friday. three guides are missing and they are not expected to be found alive. it is the single deadliest accident on mount everest. a bay area man is among the survivors. the 49-year-old man is from sonoma county. he posted these pictures today on his blog. john is on the right. he said his guide pushed him out of the way when that avalanche hit. a landslide in wyoming is slowly eating up a resort. the earth is moving an inch a day in the town of jackson. a house has been split in two the pavement is buckling. experts say they are confident the mountain side will not suddenly collapse like the washington state tragedy. 42 homes and apartment units have been evacuated. experts say they cannot shore up the earth until it stops moving. crews are trying to keep a 50-foot sinkhole from causing more damage in florida. look at these incredible

pictures of that sinkhole collapsing yesterday morning. two homes have been evacuated there. officials say the hole opened three weeks ago and then was filled. it opened up again because of recent heavy rain. >> there was a special ceremonial pitch at yesterday's a's game from a family paying tribute to a falling son and brother. marcos garcia let it fly from the pitcher's mound. it marked the end after two-month journey to honor his brother diego killed in february by a drunk driver a couple friends suggested the tribute and began using social media to make it happen. >> i heard about it. i was with my family and we were about to relax. it gained momentum very quick play before you knew it i heard rumors about the a's wanting to speak to me and everybody was open around here. >> besides honoring diego, the

garcia family want the first pitch to raise awareness about the dangers of drunk driver. >>. the 49ers now believe collin kaepernick was not in a suite in a hotel after a naked woman i placed a 911 call. a teammate were being investigated in connection with the incident. the woman told police she blacked out after drinking shots and smoking pot with the players. police are now reviewing hotel surveillance video to see where kaepernick was at the time. >> well, the warriors will be back in action tomorrow night at the staples center after beating the clippers in the opening game of their playoff series. a lot of the faithful were there cheering on the team. warriors fans were full of enthusiasm as the team took on the clippers. the game was aired right here on

the winds won't be as strong. 70s in oakland. a couple 80s toward cloverdale and getting close to that around san jose. and livermore, yep, you can seal 80 today. we will have the forecast and look at the week ahead, the cooler week coming up. >> thanks, lisa. breaking news. a crash involving a semi truck is blocking part of northbound 101 south of santa rosa. this is new video of firefighters putting out the flames. the truck hit a signpost and rolled on its side. the wreck happened just after 8:00 this morning heading north. right lane is blocked. traffic is now moving past the accident but the far right lane is still closed. a tow truck is there now. officers at the scene say the driver of the truck was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. san francisco is planning a crackdown today on the marijuana celebration that left mounds of trash in golden gate park last year. and even those who gran the pot

this morning and 6:00 this evening. muni buses will be allowed through the closers but could be rerouted as crowds grow. at tomorrow's boston marathon there will be a special group of runners. 5700 people who were not able to finish the race last year. some of them have already gathered in boston. when two bombs went off near the finish line officials stopped the race while thousands were only the course. one runner was ginner cross. she started a facebook group for stranded runners. it was a place to share experiences and emotions. >> the second the explosion happened immediately to my left and i felt the blast, felt the debris and i ran up the road at that point that was one of the reasons i started the facebook group because i have a lot of guilt for being so angry that i couldn't finish. because people were killed. >> everyone in the group is expected to run tomorrow. the rags director is telling the

runners the course will be, quote, the safest place on the planet tomorrow. this morning marks the start of a busy week for nasa and astronauts on the international space station. just this morning the crew used the station's robotic arm to capture a capsule load with supplies. a space-x rocket launched on thursday delivered the goods. now scientists on the ground and the astronauts must prepare for a spacewalk on wednesday. astronauts need to fix a broken backup computer that controls things like the external cooling system. the notorious internet security flaw heartbleed is affecting people who signed up for the insurance plans on healthcare.gov and must now create new passwords. heartbleed puts people's personal information at risk. it's affecting other popular websites, as well. refunds are on the way to

make it a beach day, even though it's a little chilly right now, 57 degrees. it should climb to about 76 later on. this, according to lisa argen, will have your accuweather forecast coming up. researchers at u. c. san francisco has found something called harm prevention can lower the risk of transmitting hiv and a.i.d.s.. the san francisco a.i.d.s. foundation uses harm prevention as part of a program to treat substance abuse. clients showed their sexual risk factors fell when they used fewer stimulants like meth. the study focused on gay and bi-sexual men who battle substance abuse. the study appeared in the journal "urban health." you probably don't need a study to know that money is covered in germs. but scientists have discovered just how dirty those dollars really are. the dirty money project found

going to be a warmer day today for easter. chance of rain showers late tomorrow. closer maybe to midnight and the we hours of the morning. so then we will look for things to change in terms of our temperatures and our winds because we will be on the back side of a trough that's going to keep us pretty cool around here. here's the look where we should be. from the low 60s to the low 70s. and today a3couple of 80s around napa, perhaps livermore that. brings us up from 3 to 11 degrees above average, especially around the outlying areas and down through santa clara could see a few 80s. but just a one-day deal. and with it the waves are continuing to really build north of the golden gate. up to 15 feet now. they were 11 feet just about an hour and a half ago. so they are getting huge out there. we are looking at the strong possibility of rip currents and sneaker waves. really dangerous here through

tomorrow morning. keep that in mind. but sunshine today. it will be a nice day but all the cloud cover will be with us tomorrow. it will help bring the temperatures down in advance of the front. but then behind it that's when we get the shower activity as it pushes on through. the north bay, in the mountains, maybe some snow. isolated showers for the most part, and much cooler temperatures tuesday. only in the 60s. but we will rebound after that. as we go through the week in san jose. upper 70s today. low 70s tomorrow. then there is your cool day on tuesday. a slow recovery. then by the end of the week we are look at more cloud cover and maybe some more rain. so maybe you can get in on the act in the south bay. not likely for tuesday's system. 87 in fresno. 64 monterey. mid-60s in tahoe. they will be in the 30s for highs on tuesday. back home 74 oakland, 77 in vallejo. 80 napa, 78 in san jose.
