let's update the breaking news a terrible accident on highway 85 near south de-anza boulevard exit. chp closed all northbound lanes there. you can see three cars hitting each other just with tremendous force. two cars just shreded by the impact. we'll stay on top of it here. >> now, to the boston marathon. nearly 36,000 runners took part for the first time since last year's bombings

many of those who couldn't finish last year's race because of the tragedy were back, running today there were tender moments in this race. one runner collapsed but carried to the finish line by four others. and married survivors epitomized boston strong both lost leg buzz rolled across the finish line together. everyone ran hard iet was important to come back this year to be part of reclaiming the streets and city, making sure we send a strong message throughout the community. the women rita jeffsu defended her title.

uc berkeley has been working to build an earthquake warning system. the same system helping prevent mexico's #.2 earthquake from landing a bigger punch than it did. why california doesn't have an early warning system. it seems to make sense. iet does make sense. that is why last year the governor mandates california build one of the system. now there is a hurdle of trying to find someone who is to pay for the system. >> it's a rocking shaking. powerful motion. >> like everyone else, she reacted as rumble hit her feet.
