making news in america this morning -- new details about that teen who hid in the wheel well of a jet during a five-hour flight. why experts are surprised he survived. and the security questions now being raised. happening this morning, president obama travels to washington state, to witness the devastation and the strength of the survivors of last month's deadly mudslide. drugs, guns and big bucks in a posh pennsylvania suburb. the school enterprise that investigators say was run like a big business. and what's on your breakfast table this morning? the rare menu now up for auction, shows us what the passengers onboard the "titanic" ate. grilled ox kidneys, anyone?

good morning, everyone. we begin with new details about that incredible stowaway survival story. >> and there are new questions about security at the airport where the teenager managed to slip into the wheel well of a plane. abc's kristin fisher is joining us from washington with more. good morning, kristin. >> reporter: fortunately, this stowaway was harmless. but what about if a terrorist did what this teenager did? that has authorities scrutinizing security at airports across the country. securities is still investigating how a 15-year-old boy was able to sneak past security and stowaway on hawaiian airlines flight 545. >> we're reviewing what happened. >> reporter: investigators are studying surveillance footage to see how the teen was able to scale the fence undetected, before bolting across the tarmac and jumping into the plane's wheel well. it's a major security breach that's raising red flags for

aviation experts and your average flyer. >> you think, oh, my goodness. they didn't see anything? >> reporter: airport officials say those security cameras are can constantly monitored. >> every program is not 100%. and it appears this teenager did scale a section of our perimeter fence, under cover of darkness and remained undetected. >> reporter: as investigators look how he slipped past security, doctors are trying to figure out how he survived a five-hour flight across the pacific, with freezing temperatures and hardly any oxygen. the faa says 75% of stowaways are killed, either from the elements or from falling out. >> the fact this person appears to have survived without any problems is incredibly lucky. incredibly lucky. that's the only technical term that applies. >> reporter: he's lucky to survive the flight. and lucky to not be facing any criminal charges. he was released from the hospital with no injuries.

and is now with child welfare services. diana? john? >> thanks, kristin. later today, president obama heads to washington state to see the area hit by last month's deadly landslide. he will head out on an eight-day tour of asia. the death toll from the disaster is up to 41 people. four others are still missing. law enforcement officials in boston reported no security threats, other than unattended bags during an otherwise flawless boston marathon. around 1 million people enjoying the sunshine, while they cheered on the runners. the course where many people who suffered injuries in last year's bomb blasts. one of them was heather abbott, who ran the last half-mile with the woman who saved her life. >> not going to let anything stop us. and boston has its marathon back. >> it was really emotionally-charged. but only my second marathon. >> meb keflezighi was the top

finisher. on the women's side, rita jeptoo of kenya won for the second-straight year. the trial of a an alleged gang member ended abruptly when gunfire. he was shot several times in the chest and later died at the hospital. terrified jurors and spectators crawled under benches and tables. cyclone developing off the australian coast, generating rough seas and poor visibility, has grounded ten planes searching for malaysia airlines flight 370. they have been searching an area of the indian ocean about the size of west virginia. the u.s. navy's bluefin-21 robotic submarine has covered nearly two-thirds of its search zone. but 46 days into that search, there is still no sign of the missing jetliner. the death toll has climbed above 100 in the south korean ferry disaster, as crews battle poor weather conditions to search again this morning. south korean investigators say

their earlier conclusion that the sunken ferry may have made a sharp turn before the disaster was incorrect. they discovered that the ship gradually changed course. joe biden is leading with government leaders in ukraine's capital this morning. he is announcing technical support to help ukraine's government with energy and economic reforms. this comes as the u.s. photographs show that some of the troops are actually russian special forces. a lighter mood at the white house as the president and first lady played host to 30,000 people for the annual easter egg roll. president obama got out and showed off his animated story telling kills. the first lady kept things healthy with a yoga station, fruit salad and kale smoothies. it didn't take long for the white house easter eggs to end up on ebay. some were listed before the event even ended. this year's eggs came in sets of four. there was a fifth egg, purple, with pictures of the first

welcome back. it's going to cost more to sign up for netflix. the internet video service says its plans to charge new customers $1 or $2 more pretty soon. but netflix says the price will stay at 8 a month for existing customers. the company reported better than expected profits. and mazda is recalling old suvs for a problem that could affect steering. more than 100,000 tributes made from 2001 to 2004, may have corrosion issues in their suspensions. mazda will make free repairs. only tributes sold in eastern

and midwestern states are affected. gas prices are rising. but a cost of a self-serve went up 3 cents. more than 15 cents a year ago. one reason is that gasoline stockpiles are at their lowest point in three years for this time of year as refiners ship more of the gasoline to other countries. apple is renewing its commitment to the environment. saying all of its facilities are using renewable energy. it's using its recycle programs for old products. tim cook says the environment matters to apple. and a rare menu from the "titanic" is about to go on to the auction block. it's for breakfast in second class, three days before the ocean liner sank. there's dozens of other "titanic" menus. most are from first class. there's only two for second class, which breakfast included grilled ox kidneys and bacon. eat's expected to fetch more than $130,000 on saturday.

school. and there were no minor leaguers. >> they were trying to identify and incentivize their dealers. trying to create a market. even the way they targeted the sub dealers to try to find people who would be motivated to do well because they needed money. >> the ring, which covered philadelphia's main line suburbs allegedly sold cocaine, and hash oil and ecstasy to college and high school students. an intensive care patient at a high school near pittsburgh is accused of selling drugs from her hospital bed. police confiscated about $4,000 of heroin and cash from the woman's hospital room in greensburg, pennsylvania. they say she put heroin into her own i.v. drip. a rape case involving football players in ohio takes a step forward today. a coach whose house was the scene of a party before the rape, has set to plead no contest today. two pending charges will be dropped. two players have been convicted

of raping a 16-year-old girl at that party. police in the miami area hoping surveillance tape will help them find the thieves that made off with $90,000 in jewelry from a suburban home. the bad guys can be scene going through drawers from the couple's bedroom. police suspect the home was specifically targeted. if you ask senator elizabeth warren, the bad guys are on wall street. the senator is out with a new book today titled "a fighting chance." in it, she makes claims how wall street bankers have rigged the economy, they're killing the middle class. senator warren spoke to abc's david muir. >> the game is rigged to work for those who already have money and power. working families, they're not looking for a handout. they just want a level playing field. >> in recent days, there's been speculation that warren could be a spoiler for potential presidential run by hillary clinton. but the democrat insists she is not running for president. the royal tour continues

police finished searching this home. this started last night in the presidio. park police pulled over a truck, a driver, for a traffic violation. according to the lieutenant the officers smelled marijuana in the truck and they say the driver handed the officer a stick of dynamite. officers evacuated the planet granite climbing gym and arrested the man. we move over then to this location on vallejo where park police searched a home. they took out several evidence bags full of stuff. there are people inside the home. police questions them. no arrests were made. they have not said why the man had dynamite or told us the charges he will
