house fire that may have started with a single match. ma keller is near the san jose state university campus. matt? >> we are a block away from the san jose state campus. normally all the students would be in the apartment complex but you can see why they are not. the damage left behind by a two-alarm fire that started over night. firefighters say it started at 1:30 when a man in a third floor apartment lit a candle and tossed a match on the couch and walked outside and a few minutes later noticed smoke coming from the apartment. the couch was on fire and yelled for people to get out including his roommate in a bedroom. the roommate ran through the flames to escape. >> i saw a guy sprinted out of

the burning fire. there were flames on his back the i hope he is all right. >> the man suffers second-degree burns and taken to the hospital at secretary to 80 people live in the apartment complex. no word on when everyone is allowed back into the apartments. we saw a light turn on in a window so someone is at home right now. there is water damage to several of the apartments so we will see how many are allowed back in the apartment complex. matt, thank you. an 84-year-old man is held at san mateo county jail on attempted murder after police say he opened fire inside a medical building in daly city forcing a neighbor lockdown. amy hollyfield is at southgate avenue. >> news of the arrest will make it easier to people to return to work this morning.

last night, they went to bed thinking he was at large but police say they arrested 84-year-old raymond iwase at his home. they believe he was responsible for the scary situation that paralyzed the neighborhood in daly city. yesterday afternoon at 1:30 a man walked into a medical office on southgate avenue and fired a shot and ran away. no one saw him leave. police evacuated the building and searched it for showers and a pre-school was placed on lockdown. the band concert in daly city was canceled so this sent a chill over the area. no one was hurt. police have not said why the man did this and whether a doctor was targeted. they have not told us what led them to raymond iwase but they found a gun and ammunition in the home and booked him into jail and charged him with attempted murder.

developing news from oakland where police were investigating a shooting that left a young woman dead. officers found the victim at 105th avenue at 9:30 last night. the 21-year-old was taken to the hospital but did not survive. there is no word on the circumstances surrounding the shooting or if there are suspects. new clues emerge from the father of the stow away who hid in aheel well on a trip to hawaii and smoke for the first time telling a reporter "my mother and father are in africa and they raised him and he wanted to visit him." another relative, the cousin of the boy's step mother says the teen just recently learned his step mother was not his biological mother and may have been running away. the teen is involving from the ordeal in honolulu. katie marzullo will is a full
