killed shortly after she used her cell phone to record the 2 men commit ago crime in her neighborhood. the 2 were also charged with special circumstances of commit ago murder during the course of a robbery. >> federal agents and local police believe they have dealt a blow to a major mexican drug cartel that does business in the bay area. they arrested 18 people including this man l avila nicknamed blank o. prosecutors him as high ranking cartel member. agents also seized variety of illegal drug, drug making lab, weapons, thousands of dollars in cash. >> good samaritan ran to help the children on board this school bus just moments after it went off the road in anaheim. this afternoon crash injured 11 people. the driver seriously hurt. they all are expected to survive, though. investigators say it appear the driver did not hit the brake before crashing into the eucalyptus trees. >> more than 600 homes in ocean county, new jersey north of atlantic city have been evacuated because of this huge

he died right there. >> tiger at the san francisco zoo killed his son in 2007 and now carlos is shocked to hear new questions about safety measures at the zoo. >> after that attack the zoo installed a code red siren system to warn workers and public of another dangerous animal escape. >> but zoo employee coming forward tonight to say code red is not working the way it should. >> dan is here with an investigation you will see only on abc 7 news. >> tl the investigation began with this letter. unsigned from someone describing themselves as friend:00 zoo workers concerned about the safety. then we file a public records act request and received internal zoo documents that show problems in the code red system. >> these employees of the san francisco zoo were taking an extraordinary step. going on camp are to say safety zoo could be better. that it should be better. they have seen firsthand this can be a life or death issue. >> i went home at the end of

sometimes trigger the alarm by accident. >> never gave us any kind of protective case or gear to prevent that fromping had a. so many of the employees got creative and took bottle cap and duct tape them over it. >>reporter: they suffered water damp the zoo without consulting the worker safety committee decided to mount all alarm button on the wall. the animal keeper union rep calls that a mistake. if being mauled bay tiger you can't say excuse me one second i need to run over and punch this button. >>reporter: rush the code red system is working. zoo director peterson and spokeswoman repeetdly denied our request for interview. so we caught up to her at the zoo last week to ask several important questions y.put the button up on the wall instead of on the keeper person? if i'm being attacked might be hard to reef the wall, right? >> well, you know what we did have a keeper unfortunately attacked by a tiger.
