it seemed like a monsoon. this is from our camera. we can see puffs of fluffy clouds and some blue skies there. let's check in with a look at the weather forecast and a look ahead to the weekend. >> we haven't seen much blue skies today we're going to see breaks of it here we've had heavy down pours there. pockets of thunderstorms. over in the central valley, lightning strikes in the stockton area and an area of rainfall beginning to push through santa cruz around davenport and into south bay of loss lomas actually. into central valley, strikes east now and stockton moving towards sierra foothills. towards fairfield and vacaville, cells weakening. inland over into sierra it's

snowing around tahoe. rainfall totals impressive in spots. santa rosa, one of the wetter areas, has received only 5/100ths. mount st. helena over half an inch. here in san francisco, just about a quarter inch. over a quarter inch in mountain view. generous doses of rainfall. scattered showers into evening hours going to taper off soon. that might mean dry conditions. >> that is good news for folks heading to at and t park. >> one been of the frustrating days at swinging skirts lpga classic. spectators waited for golfers to

story. >> this an arraignment hering. he's been charged with premed indicated attempted murder and assault with a firearm. tonight we know more about this 86-year-old man with no criminal record. >> he told the investigators i'm an old man, there is nothing for you to worry about. >> that is what the 84-year-old told police. he invoked a right to remain silent. the shooting wednesday afternoon resulted in the evacuation of the medical center. s.w.a.t. team members rushed to the building. police say he watched into the center looking for the doctor seen here being escorted out of the building. wong treated him several years ago for a condition similar to shingles a virus causing painful skin rashes but treatment was apparently unsuccessful.

sources tell us that seems to be why he went gunning for dr. wong. the district attorney says he waited until he saw the target. >> told the doctor, made the statement to the doctor that he, the doctor had given him a shot a couple years ago. and that had caused pain to him by this. there is anger. >> he says wong ran down the hall way. he says it fired a shot that missed him. >> the timing was just as he moved the shot in the direction of the doctor was running. this is fired at the doctor. >> police say he escaped a drag net arcs rested that night. police found a shotgun and am mission but no gun. >> it's a sign of someone knew what he had done was wrong. >> if convicted, he could get

life. either way, for an 84-year-old man it may be a life sentence. vic lee, abc7 news >> a football player has been identified as a student suffering second degree burns in that apartment fire wednesday night. jared leaf has burns over his body. the football coach believes leaf will probably be in the hospital for a while but says it's not a matter of if, but when he returned to the football field >> he has a drive. and it's earl hi to speculate. knowing his personality, i'm sure jared will reach out and come back in full force.

masks, they took cash they likely won't be wearing masks when trying to cash tickets in and their faces would be caught on surveillance cameras. >> a santa clara district attorney cleared a policeman who killed a gng member in san jose. the officer acted lawfully when he shot a 26-year-old. according to a released report he tried to run down the man with a stolen car. later discovered mejia shot and killed a man less than a week before. mejia was a known member of the julian street posse part of the san jess yeah gang. >> still ahead, scares in the sky. incidents on two fliefts where something went wrong. >> also, open wide the much-needed dental work being offered to bay area residents in an incredible price. >> and no check in. the wife of a social media ceo pulls a fast one just to run in the boston marathon.

a virgin australia passenger is in custody after trying to break nat cockpit during a flight from bris ban to bali. the pilot issued a hijack alert when the man started to pound on the door. crew members were able to restrain him the airline says there is never a hijacking and call it a miscommunication the plane landed safely, but bali airport was closed and flights diverted to other airports. >> tampa a trip on an american flight led owe an emergency landing. >> yes. passengers say they're happy to be alive just to tell the tale. >> i smelled smoke coming out of the air ventilation. >> you can see the city, city vibrating he's telling you to brace for an emergency landing. >> supposed to be a short flight

here at abc7 looking at fixed sky conditions. light rain turns and a major warm up next week. here is what's happening into the atmosphere, satellite shows a system bringing us rainfall. a break behind that and then, our next rain maker will be this frontal system moving in tomorrow night. and bringing light rain continuing into early sunday morning. i had should leave sunny conditions for sunday afternoon. low temperatures mid to upper 40s, tomorrow, portly cloudy skies. and here is the accu-weather forecast.
