couple other people went out there and tried to recover. found fuel and oil in the water and debris, floating stuff. >> witnesses trying to come to the rescue after two planes collide over the bay. one goes into the water and the other continues to fly home. tonight the search continues for survivors. good evening. thank you for joining us. i'm ama dates. the planes collided just after 4:00 in san pablo bay north of the brothers island. serming -- sergio is live with the latest. >> a a ma, right now there are still search vessels out there. the coast guard says this will continue on into the evening. this is still a rescue mission and not a recovery effort. a fleet of vessels lead by the coast guard search for

wreckage for hours. included in this fleet of vessels from the san francisco police departmenty qeped with sonar. eric johnson lives at the point san pablo yacht club and heard the buzz of the engines ahead. >> they clipped each other, the cessna and the old antique plane. the cessna didn't farewell. a hard spin into the water and hit hard and a big splash. >> pieces of the sessna have been recovered. it has been collected along the coast guard cuter and will be handed over to the administration as part of their investigation. >> we have not seen any persons in the water and we have one person being reported on the plane when it went down. >> there were two eyewitnesses of the crash who were aboard a nearby boat. >> we got a few eyewitness accounts of one person seen a crash and the other seen the plane hit the water. >> this is a picture of the korean war air hua plane. it flew back to its airport. the pilot and the one passenger were not injured.

i called the listed number of the plane and they had no comment of the crash. the cessna and the vintage fighter took off from the ire port before 4:00 p.m. the vintage fighter was one of the star attractions. paw sesk coasty -- pacific coast event. they say the vintage plane had a cessna chase plane from the same port. but the organizers didn't have a name of the pilot. >> tonight it is not yet clear exactly why the pilot of that vintage plane continued flying on for 40 minutes after the collision with the cessna. it is not clear if the pilot radioed for help following the clegs. the coast guard says those are questions the f.a.a. will be trying to address. reporting live in richmond, abc7 news. >> stay with abc7 news for continuing coverage of the plane crash. we will have updates on-line and on the abc7 morning news at 4:30. the father of a

15-year-old who survived a flight to hawaii in the wheel well of a jet said he expects to brepg his son back home -- bring his son back to santa clear raw as soon as -- santa clara as soon as possible. he spent six hours in the plane's wheel well. his father issued a statement for the first time. my son like many immigrant children is struggling adjusting to life in this country. the situation was aggravated by our placement in africa for many years after fleeing our home country. >> they are exhausted and appreciative of the media's concern, but anyiy questions be be -- any questions redirected. >> he is still recovering in hawaii. new developments in the controversey regarding the clippers' owner. a silent protest to the clippers as they took to the court with their shirts inside out. this as new audio of a racist rant reportedly involving him

signs. way to make a statement, even though chris paul gave us a nod on the way to the locker room. >> he spent the weekend talking to the commissioner about the controversy. he says the players issued a list of demands that include not allowing the clippers' owner to attend the playoff game. and asking the commissioner to take swift and decisive action against him by imposing sanctions up to and including removing sterling as an nba owner. >> if what has been alleged is stated there must be sanctions that make a it clear that the nba family will have zero tolerance for such conduct today , tomorrow or ever. >> there seems to be widespread trust that the new nba commissioner will do the right thing. he was at the game in oakland, but he declined to comment.

for a first check on weather and live doppler 7hd. >> here is an early look at weather. we will do a teaser and show you what is happening at a this moment. we have mainly clear skies and the clouds are lingering after some light and early morning showers that produced a couple hundredths of an inch of rainfall. looking back at coit tower you can see the temperatures are in the low to mid50s in san francisco, oakland, san jose, gilroy, half moon bay and another live view from our exploratorium camera looking at the skyline of downtown san francisco. temperatures are in the low 50s. petaluma is down to 48. here is a quick look showing clouds moving out of the bay area and what is coming next is clear skies and not weather by midweek. i will show you how hot with my accu-weather seven-day forecast. ama? developing news out of the midwest where a violent and deadly system is moving east.

at least 12 people have been killed, 11 in arkansas and one in oklahoma. search and rescue are digging through the debris of the hundreds of homes destroyed. heavy rains and the gail force winds are hitting from nebraska to louisiana. new at 11:00, police are looking into a shooting that happened near johnson hill court around 9:30. witnesses tell abc7 news there was an argument between the vehicle tim and a couple suspects about -- vehicle tim and a couple of suspects about horses. he shot them a couple times and was airlifted to the hospital. the san jose mother who admitted to stabbing her 7-month-old son to death is scheduled to appear in court on tuesday. 23-year-old ashley renee newton is in jail with no bond. police say they found newton's abandoned vehicle on saturday. she then approached them holding her lifeless baby with what appeared to be self-inflicted knife wounds on her wrists. a grease fire in san francisco burned three

mainly clear skies and these are the forecast features. a warm willing trend that against tomorrow and really heats up big time tuesday, wednesday and thursday with inland highs in the low to mid mid90s. before we get to that, here is a look at the satellite radar image. clouds are moving out of the bay area and skies are clearing and will remain clear. a little cooler in the inland valleys. then we have a big warm up. this ridge is going to expand and dominate our weather picture for the next several days. here is an example of the warm up we will see. we will use san jose as our example of high temperatures over the next seven days. 73 tomorrow in san jose which is right around average. jumping up to 88 on tuesday. 92, 903 on wednesday and thursday. mid80s by friday and then leveling off for the weekend. we will see that range of high
