live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> coast guard continues to search for a miss pilot after a midair collision yesterday afternoon. his single engine cessna went into the water west of point san pablo near the richmond-san rafael bridge. the ntsb is leading the investigation much the other plane in the crash was able to land safely. amy hollyfield joins us with the latest on the search. >> ntsb investigator got on the scene this morning to figure how what happened. the coast guard is still on the

water trying to figure out where the pilot is, if they can find him. still no sign of it although the search is 19 hours old. they say the average person could survive in the waters for 17 hours. they have not called it off. the coast guard has a cutter and helicopter out there. there are no divers in the water. they say it is not safe because they have a poet in the water. no divers in. according to the f.a.a. two plans part of the same crew crashed in midair at 4:00 yesterday afternoon over the san pablo bay. one plane spiraled out-of-control and landed in the water. the harbor master was out here yesterday and he is here again this morning and he is distraught that all of the people would were trying so hard couldn't help that pilot. he is still hoping for a miracle today but he says searching out there is tough. >> it is muddy water, high

current, things move around and the debris moved around quickly because of wind and current. it is hard to pinpoint with the oil sheen and the fuel sheen it is still traveling and moving with the current. i believe they have some side viewing radar underwater so far and stuff and they will find it. >> here is a picture of the plane that collided with the cessna. this landed safely at an airport after the collision and it had a husband and wife on board and both are okay. the planes everyone at the dream machine festival in half moon bay on the pacific coast. the airport says both planes left at 4:00 part of the same crew. the midair collision occurred a few minutes later. ntsb is on the scene to start the investigation and the coast guard says that it doesn't know when it would call off the search but when it does it will hand everything over to the

county who will then work on the recovery. thank you, someone taking a morning walk in san rafael made a grim discovery when they found a body in the water at 8:00 this morning. the marin county sheriff confirmed it is not the missing pilot from the plane accident. they say it is not a suspicious death and they are now in the process of notifying the person's next of kin. >> police are investigating a homicide last night when a 33-year-old man was shot at 9:30 p.m. and witnesses say before three was shot the victim was arcing with two suspects about horses he had sold them. he was airlifted to a hospital with multiple gunshot wounded. he died this morning. >> amber alert is how for a missing girl that has been canceled now that she is safe. the c.h.p. section the three-year-old tanya ruiz was found running in a field in a

small town this morning a few blocks from where she was taken last night. she has been reunited with her mother. she is getting checked out at hospital. her mother said she left tanya ruiz in the car and ran into the house for a minute and she came back and the girl was gone. a map was seen on the bicycle with a child after that and the bicycle was found this morning but no sign of the suspect or whether he has any connection to the family. fremont police are asking the public to be on alert for pellet gun attacks on drivers. three have been shot at in a week along one stretch of road. nick? >> fremont police say that no one has been seriously injured but they causing this an active investigation. >> fremont police are coping the areas where reports of drivers being hit entity someone firing a bb or pellet gun is happened three times in the past week. commuters traveling busy boulevard are concerned.

the fremont police department. happening now, emergency crews are searching if survivors after deadly tornado swept through the south and central united states over night. this morning, officials say at least 16 people are dead including 14 in arkansas and dozens of homes and structures near little rock are gone. witnesses say it only took seconds for the tornado to flatten their homes. >> i saw nothing but black. it was huge. i saw the rotation. >> turn around! turn. turn. >> the home video shows the cloud crossing an interstate trapping drivers in their cars. more than two dozen tornadoes have been reported in 24 hours in seven states and that severe weather is not over. mike nicco is monitoring the situation. >> we will look at what happened on sunday and the significance of it. we had 31 tornadoes, oklahoma,

louisiana, mississippi, and three in arkansas, and five in iowa. look at arkansas: 16 tornadoes reported yesterday. until yesterday we did not have a tornado-related fatality in the united states this year. this was the latest date ever going back to friday we had an ef-3 in north carolina and that was the latest. so we are off to a slow start but a slight risk over the eastern third of the country and the northeast and moderate risk down in the south and that is where our tornado watch is so at 9:00 we are hooking for eastern tennessee and eastern missouri for severe thunderstorm watch. round two is possible again today. >> warriors are headed to los angeles to battle the clippers tomorrow amid a growing controversy involving clippers' owner don sterling accused of making a racist rant about black

warmer tomorrow and a huge jump tomorrow. low-to-mid 70's in the south bay with san jose at 73 and low-to-mid 70's most of the peninsula and millbrae is 68 and localized sea breeze keeping the coat in the low-to-mid 60's with upper 60's in downtown and south san francisco and low-to-mid 70's through the not bay valley and the east bay shoreline and the east by valley and if you are headed to the game tonight, it will drop to 56 with a light breeze and too bad wednesday is not a day game because it would be in the 80's. but it will be toasty that evening, and mid-40's in santa rosa and napa and the rest of us in the low 50's as cool as it will be during the overnote because here comes the warm front, knocking on our door and come through quietly tonight and tomorrow, 90 inland and low-to-mid 80's around the bay and low-to-mid 70's at the coast and possibly the san francisco and we peak on wednesday and conservative with the 78 and san
