now. investigators are coming through the vehicle and the freeway for any evidence. the chp says it began receiving calls just before 1:00 this afternoon that gunfire from a second vehicle struck the driver of the bluford prior to that car crashing. the investigate shut down all eastbound lanes of 580. backing up traffic for miles. those lanes just re-opened 20 minutes ago. lillian kim is at the scene with the latest on the investigation. reporter: eastbound lanes re-opened within the last half hour. investigators have been here all afternoon trying to reconstruct what happened. although the scene is clear, you can still see some damage left behind. >> witnesses say the blue ford suv rolled over multiple times before hitting the center divide. richmond police say the male driver lost control after being shot by someone in another car while going east on 580 in

richmond. people oh live along the freeway heard the gunshot and the crash. >> five gunshots. bam, bam, bam. i ducked and ran outside. and then i heard this, and we came and run up here and you can see the man over there dead in the car with the gunshot wound. it's sad. >> it's unclear if the driver died from the gunshots or the crash. police have no information on a suspect or car or have no idea if this was road rage or something else. >> detectives are still sorting out the information. still going through the vehicle. trying to determine a motive or if the victim had any enemies or anybody that mite want to shoot him. >> police are hoping witnesses come forward. someone should have seen something considering it was a relative by busy tim of day. resident says thank goodness no one else was hurt. >> it's sad. i don't know what's the situation, but innocent people

on the freeway, it could have been a stray bullet. >> anyone with information is urged to call richmond police. a man in san francisco was shot to death after he mistakenly went into the wrong unit of his apartment building. the chronicle reports 26-year-old guillermo was returning holm this morn after a night out drinking win he went to the wrong floor of his apartment build and ended up inside a unit two floors above his own. he was found dead inside the apartment of 68-year-old amisi kachepa. he told neighbors that the man broke the knob on the door of his unit. an elderly woman died in a house fire today in oakland. firefighters arrived just before 3:00 a.m. to find flames coming from a home. the woman wag the only person inside the house. firefighters say the fire began in one of the bedrooms. the cause is still under investigation.

a tesla motors job fair was so popular that the company ended it early because of safety concerns. a spokeswoman tells abc7 news tesla ended early because of traffic congestion and building capacity concerns. cars backed up on to 880 this morning, causing traffic jams. the company says it interviewed hundreds of people before closing at 10:00. the job fair was supposed to wrap up just a few minutes ago. >> i thought maybe i'll have time so i came a little late. look now it is 10:00. >> i heard that people were getting turned away. that they had friends behind them and they were trying to get them in but they weren't let nothing more in. >> this crowding happened despite the fact that people had to get a ticket before the event and only people with tickets were allowed in. mew details about the santa clara teen stowaway who survived the flying to hawai'i in the wheel welt of a jet.

he is back in custody in the custody of santa clara county social services. hawai'i's department of human services confirms the 15-year-old boy is no longer in hawai'i after spending about two weeks there recovering. his father flew to hawai'i oh, hoping to reunite with his son. hawaiian officials reportedly denied the father's request to see his son and bring him back home. tonight, more than 200 girls are still missing in nigeria after they were kidnapped last month. >> big example to hoe this government doesn't represent us. >> bring back our girls. >> there were protests today in washington, dc and in nigeria. these people say their government leaders aren't doing enough to bring back 223 girls kidnapped at gunpoint. a militant group raid their boarding school, taking 276 girls. 53 have escaped. the nigerian defense ministry

says it is committed to finding the girls. >> more violence in ukraine today. and now there's fear russian president vladimir putin may use the fighting as an accuse to invade. putin says he has received thousands of requests for help from russians living in ukraine in eastern ukraine, pro-russian protesters rallied outside buildings, forcing their way in before waving a russian flag as the crowd outside cheered. today flowers marked the site of a deadly fight. yesterday ukraine started a new effort to push back pro-russian groups. >> a hit-and-run crash in san francisco critically injured one person. the crash happened at 2:30 this morning when the driver of his black infinity ran a red-light, broadsiding another car. the driver of that car was badly injured. the force of the crash sent one of the cars into a third vehicle, leaving that driver with maynor injuries. investigators say the driver who caused the crash and a number of

passengers ran from the scene. these folks in oakland gathered this morning to remember a man who was killed by a hit-and-run driver in oakland. coalition of neighbors want city leaders to make telegraph avenue safer for pedestrians. the victim was hit a short distance from his home in oakland. police are offering a $10,000 reward to help find the driver who hit the man last saturday. the woman at the center of the scandal involving clippers owner donald sterling is on the record, speaking exclusively to barbara walters. ripe smith has more on v. stiviano's first interview since recording the racesy remarkses. >> beauty and the billionaire. while he has been making himself scarce, she's been skating, traipsing around town in her full-phase visor and speeding away from the media, but barbara walters got her to sit down for an exclusive interview. >> is donald sterling a racist?

supporters of san francisco's proposition b want voters to have a say in projects on the waterfront. supporters rallied today. the former san francisco mayor says san franciscans should vote on whether or not proposed building projects will be allowed to exceed height limits in place. >> the waterfront is owned by all of the people of san francisco and must be protected for all of the people of san francisco. we want developers to build things that make sense for san francisco, and prop b requires them to think about what the voters will approve or wont. >> the chamber of commerce says prop b would cause the city housing and money and voters

beekeeperred had to be called to the rescue after a large swarm of bees converged on a car in virginia. the scene brought traffic to a halt. you can see the beekeeper scooping the insects into the hives they brought to the scene. scary. a dry, warm conditions are prompting calfire to increase staffing in northern california. they will transition into fire season across the bay area and the sacramento region. more than a month ahead of schedule. calfire is asking home owners to ensure they're prepared for wildfires and that every omahas 100 feet of defensible space. >> it was breezy today. meteorologist frances dinglasan is here to tell us about the weather. at least it finally cooled down. >> starting to cool down, and you had to hang on to your hat today. we had gusts up to 35, even more miles-per-hour. live doppler 7hd right now sweeping around the bay area,' i

canning up the clouds passing through. we're seeing some high level clouds from san jose, blue keys as well. temperatures coming down. in san francisco, 59. oakland, 65. hanging on to the low 70s in gilroy, 71. we're going to start to see those marine clouds push inland again tonight, currently 70 in santa rosa, napa, novato, 64, and upper 60s in parts of the east bay as well and concord and livermore. now, i want to tell you what the temperature change has been. yesterday at this time, well, right now, we're 19 degrees cooler compared to yesterday at this time. so, temperatures definitely tumbled in some inland areas. in areas they stayeder in the same, like along the coast. sfo airport and oakland-but we'll see numbers come down even a little bit tomorrow in inland areas, and check out the winds.

it was quite gusty today. right now it's gusting at 37 miles-per-hour, and -- fair feel, 30 from the west, and this strong sea breeze helped bring the cooler marine air and brought our temperatures down inland today. so now we're looking at sfo and we see blue skies, but you need to know that's going to be breezy again until about 9:00 tonight. a small craft advisory will expire. then around the bay. but still be breezy tomorrow. a cloudy coast and then the cooling trend will continue for a couple more days before we start to see a warmup by the middle of next week. so here's a look at what's going on in the pacific satellite image. an area of low pressure. the air circulates counterclockwise and that brings the stronger onshore flow and the sea breeze means cooler numbers. so slightly cooler in some areas tomorrow. along the coast we have already

cooled down quite a bit. here's how the forecast model shows some cloud cover overnight. we wake up to cloudy conditions tomorrow morning, and then we'll see partly cloudy conditions with passing high clouds throughout the day. and we'll take a look at temperatures tonight. they'll be narrow range for the most part, upper 40s to low 50s. look for 51 in san rafael. 53 in san francisco. 52 in san jose. so, tomorrow, along the coast, we're kind of holding steady. so suspect low 60s around half moon bay, 64 in san francisco, upper 60s around the bay. 67 in oakland. 68 in san mateo. inland areas will drop just a couple more degrees so low 70s. 70 in fremont. 72 in concord. here's the accuweather seven-day forecast. cooler inland and holding steady along the coast. cool and breezy into monday. things turn around on tuesday and then we start to warm up wednesday, above average.
