the bi line. >> crowd makes an audible gasp. we look into the flight line. and then, i can see the smoke and plane >> andrini's web site tells of his long, storied web site he'd been performing snunts a variety planes housed in half moon bay. >> we're getting more details about the pilot that died in that crash the 77-year-old eddie andrini. why residents say they lost a civic leader. >> a pilot in colorado was able to call 911 after his small plane tore through a home. he was able to drop out of the cockpit and call for help. nobody was inside of the house

at this time crash. crews were able to douse the plane and then extinguished a fire inside of the home. witnesses say the plane appeared to be struggling. >> developing news out of san jose now. police are on the scene of an apparent double homicide in a home in south san jose. they found two bodies inside of the house. here is where it happened inside a home on norma jean way. >> the alameda county sheriff's department says a deputy is a hero for saving the live of his partner this weekend. all three face attempted murder, felony assault charges that is. according to investigators kelly carter called 911 and told

dispatchers to keep carter they were fighting behind an apartment building. the deputy arrived the three attacked them. investigators say it's one of the most vicious tacks they've seen. and one deputy punched in the face so hard he will need facial reconstruction surgery. authorities say he stayed in the fight and saved his partner, who was being strangled. >> we're learning about what led up to a deadly confrontation between a teenager and police. oscar herrera shot and killed after they say he attacked officer was a baseball bat. it happened just after 6:00. according to police he would not stop fighting with his mother. when authorities arrived they say herrera confronted officers

at the door with a bat. >> he hit the officer in the hand. he immediately pulled the puck upward in a motion. >> several police have not released the name of the officer. the department says the officer was hurt but is expected to be okay. >> nearly three dozen people held american flags outside of a high school today because of a controversial event that happened four years ago the flag display was a silent protest. >> people have different points of view here in morgan hill. this rally is all about diversity and unity.

two other rallies had to do with american flagy7ñ and patriotism. adults were outside to make a point they stand by the flag. four students were told to cover up the american flag on their shirts because it was cinco de mayo. however, student leaders told the district they'd rather focus on preparing for advanced placement exams. >> they want to make it a regular day they don't like outside attention. and the patriots went along. >> we didn't bring signs. just silent. and we're leaving now as soon as we're done with this because school, we did it before school. one man whose son was involved in the controversy was here to spread a message of diversity and respect.

>> hundreds of people packed state capitol to honor fallen officers the memorial ceremony honors officers throughout the state killed in the line of duty. >> some officers will be killed in the line of duty because that is their job. to the point of death, to uphold our system of law to protect innocent. and to guard the security of the community. >> it's on a nearby 20,000 fallen officers. last year eight officers were killed in california. each name will be added to the peace officer memorial monument. >> some remarkable video.
