>> the wrong mix was used in the drug testing process creating false positives. the d.a. says that the we report took place betweenian and march of this year and the workers used the wrong chemicals to conduct the methamphetamine tests on 2,500 suspects. the mixture increases the sensitivity. the d.a. says that the mistake results in six false positives and the error was discovered in april. none of the six is in custody businesses on the tests. the d.a. is notifying 2,500 other defendants and their lawyers that third test results were processed during the period in question. the analysts who made the mistake has been reassigned from the drug testing process and a review is being completeed. a warning to dog owners in san francisco after tainted meatballs were again discovered in the city.

overpass over highway 15 shows the flames with crews still on the scene. when everything is clear and the fire is out then the investigators can go in there and assess the condition of i-15 because the lanes could be damaged from the falling steel. the overpass has been burning all night and firefighters have been on the scene all night along with the construction crew using large equipment and bulldozers to tear down the dangerous dangling chunks of what is left of the structure. it caught fire year afternoon when a worker using a blow torch ignited thed woulden supports. traffic came to a standstill backed up for mile and people were trapped for hours in their cars. >> a lot of traffic. the fire was insane. >> trying to get to my daddy.

>> winds were blowing out up to 35 miles per hour during the fire which hampered efforts to put it out with 60 firefighters on the scene battling the blames and they could not get under it because of the falling debris. one construction worker suffered minor injuries but no one else was hurt. the interchange is underconstruction and the entire bridge will be rebuilt so $59 million spent on repairs is down the drain. the board of supervisors will meet to discuss the fate of a colleague acquitted of peeping charges. officials will discuss if any action should be taken against the supervisor efren carrillo. the meeting is at 10:00 a.m. some officials listen to push for his removal from the board and we ever was acquitted of peeping through his neighbor's window while wearing only underwear and socks and he admitted he was drunk and looking for sex but blamed the incident on a problem with alcohol.

right now, a picture from our developing news interstate 15 in southern california is expected to be closed until at least this afternoon. a northbound side is possibly re-opening this afternoon but southbound not until tomorrow after an over pass caught fire and collapsed. the incident caused a traffic nightmare with cars backed up late into the night. the c.h.p. says i-15 is closed we and this is a main link between los angeles and las vegas and caltran is demolishing the overpass and work to repair the damage will take at least six months. newark police are looking for a man who went missing after an evening walk. officers say 77-year-old man left for his walk at central avenue before 7:00 last night but he did not come home. he is hispanic, 5' 9" and weighs 170 pounds.

reassigned following botched tests in methamphetamine cases. matt keller is in san jose with more. what happened, matt? >> kristen, the errors took place here when workers used the wrong chemical to conduct meth met tests on 2,500 suspects with six coming back with fault positives. the district attorney says the error in testing took place between january and manner increasing the test sensitivity and the error was discovered in april. the d.a. says none of the six with the fails positives are in custody based off the test and the d.a. is notifying the 2,500 other defendants and their lawyers that the test results were processed during the period in question. the d.a. went back and checked four years of methamphetamine test control results to make sure they were accurate. the analysts who made the mistake has been reassigned until the review process is offer.
