view with the story. >> reporter: lined with apartments, so you may see an occasional cat or two around here, but seeing a mountain lion is certainly unusual. let's show you how it all ended. with big cat tranquilized in a cage. first sight came at 6:45 last night in the 200 block near central expressway. the heart of the city 5 mile away from the downtown area. hiding under a van here at the apartments on the 2000 block of california street, that's when police, game warden and the pem of the mpuma project moved in ad tranquilized him. >> he was calm, stayed there, didn't get shot and tried to run. he basically laid down and went to sleep. afterwards, he was calm, obviously he was out at that point when they put him back in the cage. >> reporter: it took about a minute and a half for the

tranquilizer to take effect, that's when the mountain lion was moved into the cage. the big cat was wearing a tracking collar from the bay area puma project, a conservation program for mountain lions. it's ex-about abou-aboupected t into an undisclosed location. new this morning, san francisco police are looking for the people who are inside a car that hit a pedestrian and then another car before crashing into a building in the marina district. officers were following a black toyota believed to be stolen on bay street around 9:40 last night the car took off and ran a red light. it hit a pedestrian, then another car, then smashed into that building. the suspects took off on foot. several people were later detains but no one is in custody. police searched the aquatic park area and say they were not chasing the car at the time it crashed. two victims suffered nonlife threatening injuries.

an apparent road rage shooting in san jose, the victim has died. a car nearly collided with another car yesterday morning, the drivers stopped, got out, and argued. a passenger inside the car that pull out of the mobile home park opened fire. police are still looking for the gunman. doctors medical center in san pablo one step closer to shutting down. yesterday voters rejected the measure to fund the hospital. it needed two-thirds approvals. the center is currently losing more than a million a month. hospital employees will continue to urge county lawmakers to take action. voters in arenda and western walnut creek approved a $122 parcel tax for the high school district. measure a passed with 75% of voters saying yes. it raises money to maintain curriculums and programs while keeping class sizes small.

work crews finished cleaning up piles of debris from southbound lanes of interstate 15 in his peera before midnight allowing it to reopen before schedule. northbound lanes opened earlier. the overpass caught fire monday after a construction worker with a cutting torch ignited a wooden section of the bridge which set the entire structure tonigk on new details about the massive construction fire two months ago in the mission bay neighborhood. investigators previously said the fire ban with a hot or smoldering object left at the site. the new report says it appears either sparks from welding on the roof or embers from the grinding of a steel handrail came in contact with bare wood. cause is accident. the fire cost $40 million in damage. developers plan to rebuild the apartment complex. 4:53. a check on the forecast now, mike. >> open up the weather window on sfo, it's clear.
