the woman on saturday. on friday, she went to a charter school and asked her son to point out the boy. the deputies say she grabbed the other boy by the throat and warned him to stop. authorities say the 12-year-old has visible red marks on the neck when the deputies arrived. school administration say she went on the school grounds without checking in with the office and is free on $30,000 bail. >> oakland is seeing a dramatic drop in violent crime this year. much of the credit goes to a change in police tactics. oakland police releases the statistics and shootings are down 35 percent and homicide down 8 percent and robberies down 38 percent. intervention tactics such as warning rival gangs not to retaliate are reducing violence but there are it will shootings. friday night, a nine-year-old girl was shot in the neck and now in critical condition. a 15-year-old boy from antioch is recovering after being shot

at the plant shopping center on little orchard street on saturday afternoon. they found garcia assaulting the victim in bushes behind the store. he was living in a facility that helps find permanent housing for the homeless. witnesses say the victim stayed in the same facility but checked out on saturday morning. >> officials say 47 homes are been destroyed by wildfires and some are still raging. at least 39 of the homes were in the suburb of san marcos and the other eight in carlsbad 30 miles north of san diego. four fires are still burning, one in san marcos and the other three at camp pendleton. damages have reached $20 million. >> check out this selfie: san marcos firefighter is surrounded by fellow firefighters while they took a much needed break. he took the picture to let his wife foe he was okay but somehow
