17 years ago. >> it's not that we don't want the tourist. we just want some reason order. >>reporter: hickman is vice president of the lombard hill improvement association. he says traffic grid lock has trapped many residents at home e and brought accidents like this car which flipped over. >> we have no facilities to handle thousands of people a day so we are just kind of overrun. there's no security. there's no order. there's no traffic nrochlt people stop in the middle of the street and do whatever they want. >>reporter: home vons appealed for help and city is proposing closing crooked lombard to considers on 4 weekends this summer. beginning june 21 to july 13. from noon to sex p.m. >> the traffic is an issue and sometimes it backs up so much on to van ness it conflicts and impacts the regional transportation network. >>reporter: closing lombard could spark a backlash among tourist. >> it's a shame about thinking
