live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> an explosive situation in san jose, a family's home security family records their car going up in flames in the drive this is not the first time something like this has happened. i am kristen sze. >> i am cheryl jennings. >> the family has been targeted before and it is more dangerous with each attack. matt keller joins us outside the home with the details. an arson investigators arrived from the arson task force. he is talking to the renter. they are trying to get clear

what took place outside of the home. they do have a bird's eye view of what took place in the drive. >> look closely at the surveillance video. you are watching a crime in progress. two people can be seen walking across the street from the home in east san jose at 1:53. a minute later one of them dressed in a hooded sweatshirt approaches the 2008acura parked in the drive. the father of the house explains what happened next. >> they put gas on the windshield using a torch to start the fire. >> blame starts and the two people run off. the father, wife and four teens were inside sleeping when the fire started. one of the daughters woke up and called 9-1-1 at 2:10 a.m. by 2:15 the flames were huge. the homeowner attempted to put out the fire but it was too much. the flames spread for the honda

and destroyed both vehicles. firefighters arrive 18 minute after the 9-1-1 call and put out the flames. >> the house was scorched. the occupants were safe. there were no injuries reported. >> that is a miracle. this is not the first time the home was targeted. this surveillance video was put up after the home was burglar burglarized and vandalism august 23. on may 11 two wearing similar clothes to the people who started the fire this morning were caught on camera dumping a can of paint on the front of the vehicle. the string of attacks frustrates vince. i have no idea but they are very hateful. >> arson investigators towed the vehicles an this morning. vince says he has insurance for both cars. >> in hayward, police are investigating a double shooting outside a home garage on cooper

avenue. two men went to the hospital, one with serious injuries. other members of the home say there was a confrontation before multiple shots were fired. this man is under arrest accused of stabbing his stepfather over a stray cat. the police say 46-year-old confessed to stabbing his stepfather with a kitchen knife on sunday eastbound. the 63-year-old stepfather was taken to the stepfather with wounds to his face and neck but is expected to survive. he told officers he was upset because the stepfather was threatening to kill the stray cat he adopted. students of a san jose health care training school are wondering where their tuition went after the facility suddenly closed. the landlord of the building housing the bryman college slapped the school with eviction notice. bryman office courses in medical years. students do not know if they can condition training at the two

other bay area campuses in san francisco and hayward. >> a teen banned from the high school year book for wearing a tux released an official statement. her parents expressed gratitude to the prep school for the way it tried to remedy the situation. the school last out her senior picture from the year book because the tuxedo rallied dress codes: the students rallied for his and wore ties to solidarity. the school offered to reprint the year book but the family turned it down and said they would like to thank the student body, our family and friends and the countless number of people around the world that bravely wrote in solidarity. >> tourist say something crooked is going on in san francisco. the city leaders are expected to milk a stretch of a lombard street off limits for a few weeks to cars. amy hollyfield, neighbors have

on "the shield," was arrested this morning for his wife's murder, a crime the "los angeles times" is reporting he confessed to. she was funded in the los angeles home last night after reports of shots fired. he is held on $1 million bail. >> general motors is announcing another major recall this morning, 2.4 million more cars more than half involves crossover vehicles such as the buick enclave. the vehicles have a problem with the front seatbelt that might separate during a crash. general motors has now recalled 15 million vehicles worldwide this year. >> the warriors. introduced the new head coach to the bay area, steve kerr works the nba playoffs. the job is his first as head coach. he was the general manager of phoenix for three years. he replaced mark jackson who was fired after three seasons and back-to-back playoff trips. the warriors gave defive years
