live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. a north bay mom accused of taking a bullying matter into her hands has her first day of court. >> a 30-year-old mother accused of choking a boy she believed was bullying her daughter did not enter a plea. she stood silent in court next to her attorney. the district attorney asked tore more time to investigate. delia garcia-bratcher was arrested on suspicious of felony child abuse. she confronted a 12-year-old boy at olivet charter school on

friday. her attorney say she never laid a hand on the boy. >> my client is a folk hero all over her world for standing up to her daughter. >> you make her sound like the mother of the year. >> she is the me of the year. she did nothing wrong. her daughter was being bullied. what is wrong with that? >> sonoma, sheriff said mother may have grabbed the wrong child. her attorney says that she spoke to the right child, who was picking on her daughter. >> police are holding a news conference this afternoon to try to calm local anger over fatal officer-involved shooting. last night a protest over the shooting turned into a riot and a man watching the demonstration was killed. police were pelted with rocks and bottles when they tried to aid him. no suspects are in custody. had was a separate shooting on tuesday when police followed a man holding garden shears. the officers opened fire and

killing the man. from southern california, an orange county man has been charged in the kidnapping and rape of his girlfriend's daughter and holding her captive for 10 years. the woman, now 25, is telling her story to our sister station in los angeles. katie marzullo is in the newsroom with that story. >> the woman is very happy to be home with her mom and us materials. it is not only a reunion for them, they are meeting her three-year-old daughter for the first time. the child fathered bitumen who was abusing her for a decade. >> it starts with abuse, s garcia attacked the girl after assaulting the mother and kid naming the 15-year-old girl filled with rape and abuse. >> i request do nothing. nothing. why have a live.

i don't have a life. >> my understanding is there was continued and repeated sexual assault. on two occasions she tried to escape. he caught her and he beat her for the efforts. >> garcia changed their identity and moved them around. they got married and three years ago had a daughter. neighbors say they seemed like a happy family. >> she would go to the market and they would be happy can kissing and holding hands and she comes up with this now, why did it take so long? >> the teen had only been in the country six months when garcia took her. she did not speak english and garcia brain washed her think she needed him. it wasn't until she found her sister on facebook she learned her mother tried to find her and she had the courage to go to police. >> i am so happy. god bless me for being with my family. that is what i want automatic the time.

whale back to store so scientists can figure what killed it. matt keller joins us from half moon bay with more on the story. >> full grown humpback can grow as long as 60' and weigh up to 75,000 pounds. the wheel body floating offshore is just a baby estimated about 20' long, small for a wheel but it is getting big attention at half moon bay. >> it is not inbound to see a whale off the coast of half moon bay but it is unusual to see the body of a young humpback whale floating. traffic on the section of highway one is backed up during the commute. today it was worse. drivers would see the whale from the car inspiring many to slow down or pull over to take a look although the san mateo county sheriff didn't want them to. >> usually you come by here because we go to school and we do not notice things and it is a boat but it was a black thing in

the water and you look closer it has all lines on it. you can tell it is a whale. >> i was driving by taking my daughter to school and i was like, wait you never see anything that big in the water. >> at 4:00 a.m., the 20' lock whale was pressed on the rocks next to the pillar point r.v. park and the high tide came the whale floated out and at 10:00 a.m. it was half an hour from shore. it is sad. that is life. >> it is impressive to see such a big mammal this close. >> yes. to consider this is only a small version of the adult. it is impressive. >> the marine mammal center is waiting to see if the whale ends up on shore f that happens they will have scientists do an autopsy to find out what killed the animal. people are hoping to find out answers. >> there are fellow mammals so when there is a tragedy everyone

pete and santa clara. mid-to-upper 70's through the peninsula and millbrae is cooler at 70. low 60's along the coast. transitioning to sunshine and downtown and south san francisco, we hit the upper 60. same in sausalito, and bodega bay is low-to-mid 60's. up to 82 in napa is the spread. low-to-mid 70 along the east bay more and mid-to-upper 80's into the east bay valley. look at the clouds again tonight, any drizzle is along the coast and temperatures are cool when you step out tomorrow morning and low-to-upper 50's and the we low pressure is giving way to high pressure and morning clouds give way to afternoon sunshine so it will not be too hot at the coast with 60's throughout the weekend and the rest of us hid 80's and 90's but because we don't have an offshore wind with the heat our air quality should be good over the weekend and no pair spare is likely. have a great saturday, sunday and if you are off on monday. tomorrow is a lot like today
