then drove to isla vista deli. >> he was so much a part of our lives, it's hard to imagine how things are going to be like now that he's gone. >> roger then drove through isla vista shooting randomly outside his manifesto detailed hatred for women and blamed them for loneliness and misery. he crashed his bmw and die offed a self inflicted gunshot wound one way area victim who survived is recovering in the hospital. he was in isla vista visiting a former class mate when he was hit by rogers car. both of his legs were broken. his farj says he hopes to get release in the next day or two. >> that college town is trying to find some sort of normalcy

irvine. so news hit in stages first about friday night's rampage through texts from friends then disturbing videos and writings by the 22-year-old elliott roger through news reports and sunday, discovering one friend was a victim. >> it's hard hearing that james was a roommate. because he's a dear person to me. >> james hong was stabbed to death inside of the apartments the girls became friends with him when living in dorms last year. . >> i just remember him in dining commons just sitting with people alone. sometimes if he was alone he would wave to people and ask them to come over. >> i talked with a couple friends who declined an interview. they described the men as outgoing and focused students. none of the friends say they knew the roommate and accused killer elliott roger.

looking towards mount diablo. mid-80s in fairfield and livermore. still warm around the inland locations. looking westward along the bay, forecast features, clear skies and breezy tonight. it will be warming up again mid week. producing breezy conditions already, tomorrow cooler than today still mild day just a little bit of a drop in temperatures. take a look at hurricane amanda peaking at category 4 level yesterday. beginning to lose strength, a very powerful category 3. good news is that it's moving away from and posing no threat to populated areas. so next few days we'll see it weaken to just a tropical depression.
