from san francisco to sfo is ten minutes. the toll plaza shows how clear it is, accident-free and smooth trip across the bay. >> if san francisco, police are on the scene of a previous accident in richmond district. a man was hit by a car while walking past a gas station at geary boulevard and 24th avenue. he was pinned under the car and suffered serious injuries. police took the driver into custody and are trying to determine if alcohol was involved. amy hollyfield is at the scene. we will have more at 5:30. >> a young man is accused of murdering six students at uc santa barbara and what his parents went through surrounding the hours of the attack. katie marzullo? >> yes, this is a family friend speaking out would knew elliot rodger since he was a child.

he said that speaking now, after the fact, that elliot rodger is a monster. the mother and father started driving up to uc santa barbara from los angeles when they got the manifesto by e-mail and they watched part of the youtube video and we now know it was too late. they still cannot face the public or the media but through their friend they want people to know their son is dead, too, they are mourning his victims more than him. this morning he delivered the statement. >> we are crying in pain for the victims and their families. it breaks our hearts on a level we didn't think possible. the feeling of going that it was our son's actions that causedded tragedy can only be described as hell on earth. >> ready idea -- elliot rodger killed six stabbing three men at

graduated from leland high school in san jose in 2012. he, along with his friends, david wang and james hong were the first three killed by elliot rodger. a vigil is held at leland starting at 8:30 at the school. >> a large crowd of hundreds turned out for another vigil on the uc berkeley campus many living in the area. victoria spoke to the crowd and she remember her roommate, katie cooper, who died. >> we got along well somehow. she was great. for everything i did she always loved me. >> vigil was organized as a tribute to the victims. tonight, uc davis holes their own vigil. >> uc santa barbara student faces charged for accidentally firing a gun in his list vis apartment. the bullet went through a wall nearly hitting the neighbor before tuesday's vigil.

injuries. >> the sergeant told us he got a report from the officer that the hospital that he have moved the victim to icu so that is a positive sign. the victim is in his 40's and they don't know anything else. they are looking into what the driver was drunk. they have not charged him with anything and are trying to figure if he committed a crime. the southfield will be helpful in the investigation. they were just explaining that it appears the driver and the passenger pulled in because they had a blowout on their tire. they are unclear how the man got under the car and was trapped. they trying to answer a lost questions this morning. a bay area high school is planning a vigil tonight to honor one of the bay area victims of the deadly rampage in isla vista. george chen graduated from
