stop the rampage. >> a family friend is reading the statement directed at families of the victim but the family friend watched asked idea grow up and is sharing his own impressions. >> he is in many way a monster. >> in an interview on "good morning america" the family friend said that about the 22-year-old who killed six people. as for a younger elliot rodger, he says growing up he seems lonely. >> he was very removed, remote child. he was an odd child. he hesitateed. he shook when you met him. >> he said his parents were aware he had problems and tried to get him help. elliot rodger was on xanax the last six months used to treat anxiety caused by depression and doctors offered to put him on medication before. he would not take it. >> there is a sense he tried everything and even the final night they tried to rescue him.

there will be a tribute tonight for one of the bay area victims. leland high school in san jose will hold a vigil for george chen a 2012 graduate of the school. it starts at 8:30 in the quad. >> a shooting in west oakland sent a man to the hospital after 9:00 this morning. police say the 19-year-old victim was shot multiple times in the torso. the gunman ran off. there is no known motive. police have not ruled out the possibility it was gang-related shooting. the condition's victim sun known. >> c.h.p. hops to re-open a lane of the bay bridge toll plaza any time after an accident involving an armored truck. the highway patrol says the truck may have been going too fast when it collided with the toll plaza structure after 8:15. schedule re-open is three minutes ago. damage to the toll plaza is minor. the truck is towed away.
